  4. Yeah, there is definitely meaning behind their titles, if not solely in an "inside joke" kind of way. One of the top Youtube comments for the new song is something akin to "the Mogwai Random Song Name Generator strikes again!" but I don't think that's ever been the case. It's actually so good. I think it's my favorite verse-chorus-verse-chorus song they've done, with vocals. The way the verses are sung makes me think of CODY and I'm all about that. Really hits me as a summation of their classic sound merged with the newer direction they've been taking.

  6. Agreed. I had hoped to be able to get the “Proxima B” 7” as well to combine shipping, but that was gone. Only reason I didn’t pick that up was for the same reason, shipping being far too high and nearing the cost of the item itself.

  7. No, you know what? I'm not thinking clearly. I've waited a long time for this. Here it is. $56 shipped to the USA for limited 3LP vinyl. I pay that much for Caretaker records. God bless America.

  10. I would call it 100 rushed black vinyl records that weren't approved for quality control. Their story checks out, but I doubt many people want to pay that.

    YouTube Vinyl Channel

I searched for a thread about vinyl YouTube channels and the latest thread was from 2013. So instead of bumping that to share my YouTube vinyl page, I figured I'd just start a new one. Mod, please merge it with an older thread if needed In any case, here's my YouTube vinyl channel. The first video is a tour of my music listening area, then most of the videos after that I focusing on rare or special pressings I have. Subscribers, comments, likes & shares welcome of course. We have a new video every Thursday https://www.youtube.com/infectiousgroovepodcast

  18. Based off years of paying attention to the label and the way they operate. It’s been a year, since the Newbury pressing of Strangers, and we haven’t seen a color repressing of it since. You’d think they’d want to cash in, right? They did a small run repress of Punisher for Rough Trade’s EOY thing, yeah. But that seems like the “homie hook up”, along with the EP. But all the Secretly labels don’t really just bust color represses freely, unless it’s a “collab”, or whatever, with a store or for the the society. They do initial color runs, with some of the most recent releases a shit ton, and then it’s done. Also, I do remember the blue variant of Strangers was supposed to be a tour variant, for the 2018 headlining tour, but got delayed, or something, so they just put them up on the site. Maybe I just made that up.

  19. To answer the question you’re really asking, I, personally, don’t think you’ll see any color represses for either of these. POSSIBLY a VMP variant for Strangers(if they were going to, don’t know why they haven’t already) or a Newbury variant for Punisher. Outside of that, I don’t see it happening. And if you’re familiar with any of the actual color pressings for either, if you want ‘em, they ain’t cheap.

  21. I got a pretty confusing / poorly worded email from them about shipping dates that seems to imply a new variant is coming soon... "Purple Slime". That is unless that has already gone up, sold through, and been taken down without me noticing (shrug). Id keep your eyes on their socials and site.

  34. On the subject of cancelling, I will say that anyone who went to that racist insurrection on Wednesday or supports it or is too dumb to understand what it was and just calls it a "rally" should immediately be cancelled.

  35. I can't believe some of the advice being doled out regarding "customer service." You don't need to take your listings down or rush out to ship something the next day just because it's Christmas. If someone demands that you ship immediately because they couldn't get their shit together in time to order something, fuck them. It's always the guy who buys the $2 7" who wants it tomorrow. The entitlement generation is the worst.

  37. I used to love Ryan’s music, and still do in a way, it’s just harder to separate his art from him when most of his art is him begging for sympathy. I think that’s my problem with the new album. “I’m Sorry And I Love You” would be a textbook Ryan song that isn’t half bad but after everything that surfaced, it’s impossible to take a song with lyrics like that seriously. Even if everything in “Birmingham” about Isbell is true, I don’t think it’s really the time to be casting blame on others who had entirely different mental struggles. He’ll never garner anywhere near the support he had before but I think a lot of people, me included, would be willing to listen with more of an open mind if he had put out a clear, sincere apology and actually owned up to the shit he’s done. To me this is an attempt to just gain more sympathy. To release an album without making a statement on everything that’s happened regarding him over the last few years seems like he’s just trying to sweep it under the rug.

  38. So 3 weeks later and I actually started doing something about this. It's still in the tinkering stage but I'm open to suggestions, especially this early on. The thumbnails are manually added and will make the doc take ages to add rows, if you have 800+ of them. I'm thinking of a way to compress them into a static gif, or just modifying the design to not use them at all. It'll be a dream machine for anyone with a modest collection. Open to suggestions. If anyone has a genius way of fetching Discogs sale values, please let me know. Right now it's entirely manual and such a pain. More to follow.

  39. Nothing really this is just another VC nostalgia thread. But they had a variant gallery for releases so you don't have to click each listing. That's my best guess, more pictures
