dang, this year keeps getting better and better. and the best stuff is the "comeback" albums from folks who have been away a long ass time (Bowie, MBV, Wire, QOTSA, Suede, Daft Punk, etc). Here's hoping Mazzy Star (and NIN) continues the trend.

Is it just me or is this label's output so far really disappointing this year? I guess B&C will bring it up but for a while I saw this label as the better brother of RFC and RFC has just blown them away this year.

Ok yes. This is shitty on the part of a multi billion dollar business, but they are a business and crowd funding is a good way to calculate risk. They didn't get to be a multi billion dollar business by being stupid. If you read through the threads for oop or first time pressings by small labels banking on the "MTV generation's" nostalgia, the hardest part is getting the label that owns the rights to commit to a pressing because they want guaranteed units. This basically illustrates that fear but also illustrates that the format is making a significant comeback and as usual the major labels are late to the party. So while it sucks that companies that don't need the money are using a crowd funding business model, that's all it is- a low risk business model. What REALLY sucks is that these small boutique labels may not get as many of these "nostalgia" releases anymore and the time, effort, and overall quality that goes into this kind of pressing/packaging will be lost to the power of the bottom line. They will also probably still cost at least as much as an SRC or ETR release, for example, however instead of paying mostly for steep licensing fees, above and beyond pressing/packaging, and a bit for the limited nature of the units, we will be paying almost exclusively for exclusivity. In conclusion, *fart noise*

This is all just a sneaky way for Universal to maximize their profits without taking any financial risk. They're pretty much figuring out what record they can sell the most, stick an hefty price tag based on "exclusivity" and the promise of getting "art prints" or other useless things to justify the price.

They will be fine. I use the same exact set up (my speakers are the ss-u450 that are rated 250watts on the back instead of 220. Everything sounds awesome and the pm5004 can push very loud volumes before getting the dial 1/3 to max. I think the difference in our speakers is size of the woofers. Mine are 12", it looks like yours are 8" or possibly 10". Everything should work great; I don't think you'll have any problems.

I'd honestly wait for a second press and hope for the best, this whole press sounds like absolute garbage.

The whole show, they seemed so happy and genuinely shocked at the turnout/reaction from the crazy crowd. They even laughed off the girl who kept coming up on stage in attempts to seduce them....which was kinda awful.

What I'm reading are some insecurity problems, and some lack of self-worth. If your gf broke up with you and is seeing some other dude then fuck her, you deserve better than that. No need to get hung up on it no matter how much time and energy you've put into the relationship. You need to understand that you're young and good looking and could swing some chick right now at this very moment if you wanted to. If she treated you like shit or one of the parties in the relationship wasn't happy then it's just for the better. You're worth more than that. You can lay pipe all of town if you wanted to, whether you're able to see it or not. There's literally millions of fish in the sea, it's short sighted to think the one chick you got with in your twenties in your specific local region is the only one for you. Go out there and swing some beetches, man. But as cliche and cheesy as it sounds, you really can't learn to love someone else until you start to love yourself first. As for being jealous if your girl is out with friends, you need to get over that, right quick, if you want to get with any decent and self-respecting lady. Girls just wanna have fun man, like the song. Let them go out and have fun, even if it's with guy friends. They don't need to text you the whole time because that's the whole point of "trust," you know, it's that little thing that people say the foundation of all relationships are built on. Go out with "girl-friends" if that's what you want to do especially if she is hanging out with guy friends, it's unfair to deprive yourself of social interactions because you think she'll get jealous when she's doing the same shit to you. But you can't play the jealousy game and keep tabs of "oh she's gone out with friends x number times so I'm owed a night out with a lady friend" or something. Just do what's right when it's right. You'll know if something is for sure up if you have an open and honest relationship and need to have trust in that. And if she can't have an open and honest relationship than fuck it, you're worth more than that.
