  1. These are the kinds of people that Hot Topic sells records to.

  5. Spent some time this morning working on the lack of lyric inserts for all of the current Solid State / Tooth And Nail releases, plus a few others. The artwork is part of what I love about collecting records, and to not have anything included with these releases is pretty cheap on the labels end, so here is something for entertainment purposes. There are links included to all, so if you want to print out your own, be my guest... and to the dude who did this for the As Cities Burn release, great job! Not trying to step on your toes at all, but just did my own little rendition as well. 6. There's no need to be a continuous bleeding heart over alleged elitism in this thread. This does not have anything to do with your previous drawn out battles in this thread. There is a whole thread for blink reissues from Hot Topic, and the answers to most questions regarding them could be found there. EDIT: Cheers for the downvote, CPen. It's definitely the people that Dingleberry mentioned who are very sensitive.

  7. You are most welcome. Sorry it got there a little late, but glad you enjoyed it! And now, on to my Santa. The guy on the right in the bathtub is an old co-worker of mine. This is their first 7" and a comp 2x7" they were on. The Prozacs/Guts split was also a nice surprise. Bands I haven't heard of, and enjoy are always a welcome surprise. This is Barghest's newest LP The Virtuous Purge. Barghest is a black metal band from Baton Rouge, where I used to live. I never got around to picking up this album, so I'm pretty excited to finally have a copy. My Santa also BUILT ME A HAND-MADE 'NOW PLAYING' STAND! This is crazy awesome, and way beyond what I ever would've expected to receive. I managed to strip the screws while putting it together (because I'm an idiot who didn't read the directions), but I'm going to get some replacements to put it together properly. Finally there's a calendar and beautiful coffee table book of Hubble images. I run a planetarium, so these are both pretty spot-on gifts. Santa also included a nice mix cd of Canadian bands. My Santa is totally DafTyler. Thanks for everything, this is an awesome collection of stuff!

  18. Glad y'all enjoyed 'em! I just started buying vinyl about 3 years ago, and 90% of what I buy is just repurchasing stuff I used to have on CD; between that, and getting instant download links on records I preorder, I should have a good number of codes to give to a good home for a while. EDIT Here's another one: Old Man Gloom - Meditations in B (2015 remaster) Bandcamp.com/yum cbht-538f

  22. Seriously, if you are in here and don't want spoilers you are doing it wrong. I stopped coming in here like 3 weeks out just to make sure some ding dong didn't read some rumor and post it here.

  23. Same. The work it takes to post a photo, your thoughts, and a thank you is a very, very small fraction of the work Santas put into their gifts. Thank you Mike and Lauren for the work they put into SS. You both keep the magic alive, even with all the Grinches. Thank you again, Billy. I'm glad you were my Santa. Merry Christmas, buttmunchers.

  24. I opened mine. My santa was thefavoriteplay. He let me know multiple times that he was from Charleston so that really helped me narrow it down. VC definitely out does itself every year. Santa apologized for not including more when I was already floored with the bounty. Little notes on every item gave a real personal touch along with the letter. Blah Blah Blah. The part everyone wants is below.

  25. Hi everyone, I play in this band. So sorry for the wait, there were certainly a few things we learned about this process and have decided to not do vinyl on our own again in the future. Not only was it stressful on us, but even worse was the timeframe everyone had to wait who pre-ordered. We sincerely apologize for this mess.

  29. Through 11 submitted lists... Top Albums 1. If These Trees Could Talk - Above the Earth, Below the Sky (7) 2. Caspian - Tertia (6) Jakob - Solace (6) 4. Giants - Old Stories (5) 5. This Will Destroy You - Young Mountain (4) Caspian - You Are the Conductor (4) Jakob - Sines (4) 8. Explosions in the Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place (3) This Will Destroy You - S/T (3) Deadhorse - We Can Create Our Own World (3) Moving Mountains - Foreword (3) Pg.Lost - Key (3) Beware Of Safety - Dogs (3) Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists... (3) Daturah - Reverie (3) Shy, Low - Hirae th (3) Yndi Halda - Enjoy Eternal Bliss (3) God is an Astronaut - All is Violent, All is Bright (3) Mono - Hymn to the Immortal Wind (3) Pelican - Australasia (3) Year of No Light - Ausserwelt (3) Top Artists 1. Caspian (14) 2. Jakob (11) 3. This Will Destroy You (9) If These Trees Could Talk (9) 5. Russian Circles (7) Godspeed You! Black Emperor (3) 7. Giants (6) 8. Explosions in the Sky (5) Pg.Lost (5) Beware of Safety (5) I have a suggestion for how to solve the dilemma that's arisen considering we're only doing one album per artist. Why don't we do the top album from each of the top 10 artists, then the remaining top 5 albums not from the top 10 artists. So, doing in that way, the list would look like this thus far: Caspian - Tertia Jakob - Solace This Will Destroy You - Young Mountain If These Trees Could Talk - Above the Earth, Below the Sky Russian Circles - Geneva Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists... Giants - Old Stories Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is Not A Cold Dead Place Pg.Lost - Key Beware of Safety - Dogs ... Then we'd need another voting round to pick 5 albums from the following 9: Daturah - Reverie Shy, Low - Hiraeth Yndi Halda - Enjoy Eternal Bliss God is an Astronaut - All is Violent, All is Bright Mono - Hymn to the Immortal Wind Pelican - Australasia Year of No Light - Ausserwelt Deadhorse - We Can Create Our Own World Moving Mountains - Foreword Of course, this is without a list from both Matt and Derek. There's also a possibility of a better option in how to do this, in which case somebody suggest it and we'll see how it works. Sorry for the long post.

I love how I was in the middle of eating my greasy ass pizza for lunch, and one of the heads of the department decided to come by and shake my hand for Christmas. I was like, my hands are greasy, mainly because I didn't want his germs and whoever else's hand he already shook, but he made me shake his hand anyway. I can't even eat in peace.

  40. Travis has an Excel document where he logs how many requests for an album he gets in this thread. When the tally reaches 250, then he knows that Hot Topic will be able to press the 800 copies necessary for a release (estimated 250 will be sold to VCers, 150 to regular non-VC shoppers, and the rest go to lazylabradorrecords on eBay). So, if you've been clamoring for an ETID repress but not seeing any change or progress it is likely because its the same few posters asking for it and not 250 different posters.

  41. I saw it Saturday morning and the moment the music started as far as I was concerned it was 1977 and I was 9 years old again. I can't be arsed with an asinine critique of the film or the score but what I will say is that my 11 year old daughter and I thought it was superb and therefore any comments not in line with that considered view are quite obviously wrong on all levels and that's an end to it..

  42. Need an Avalanche repress badly. I know it's his solo work, but still slightly related. The only ones to sell on Discogs have gone for way above what I'd be willing to pay.

  43. Eh, same. The first edition is a gold/white whale I look for, so it would be a nice compensation. It's the ONLY album I have multiple copies of, love it so, so much. And the game is a gem too, give it a try if you're into point-and-click, people.
