  1. I don't know the particulars, but my original SS had some issues and had to bow out. I hope everything is ok and wish them all the best. I did receive a mystery package a few days ago (pic is above in this thread), which may or may not have come for them If so, thanks! In the last several days i received four packages sent from across the county by four kind souls who stepped in for the original SS. That is awesome and speaks to the sense of community within VC. I want to thank Mike and everyone involved in the SS effort. This is my 1st year participating and will be sure to continue my involvement. I cant wait to see if my SS liked what i sent. Now on to the pictures Package #1 A gameboy advantage with a super mario bros. I just rocked this out and smashed some koopas. Mario does not seem to like turtles... I think this is from tellallyourfriends based on the fact that he is the only person i know in Palpatine, IL. Package #2 I was not familiar with Early Graves or Hidden Masters. Early Graves is fast heavy hardcore while Hidden Masters is a Scottish psychedelic rock band. Both Good Stuff. Thanks! This came from Durham. I used to live in Raleigh, it is a small world. Early Graves - Red Horse 12" - White /200 Hidden Masters - Of This & Other Worlds 12" - Black /300 Rations - Martyrs and Prisoners 7" - White /1000 Package #3 I am a huge MBD fan. However, i did not own "Who Will Survive..." on vinyl until now. Thanks so much! It was sent from CO and sender has attended the Stanley Hotel shows. I am jealous. I was not familiar with Spitfire or Accident Prone. Spitfires is screamy hardcore and Accident Prone is more punkish HC from Norfolk. I need to give everything a full spin, but is there an Accident Prone - Futurama connection? Thanks to the sender! I will have lots a Xmas vinyl to spin and annoy my Justin Timberlake loving wife. Murder by Death - Who Will Survive... 2x12" - Black & White Spitfire - Self-Help 12" - Black /100 with Demo 7" /300 Accident Prone - Idle Hands 7" - Black /250 Package #4. This is an OG press of Murphy's Law first record. Plus, it was once owned by someone in the Warzone Crew. Awesome. I have never had a vinyl copy of this sweet album. I remember hearing it on WSOU in middle school. I used to record the show (as i would often fall asleep - it was on late on a school night) and then make mix tapes of favorite songs. Ahh, the days before the internet and discretionary income. Jimmy G. is a funny guy and Murphy's Law always put on a great live show. Thanks! and much jersey love to the sender. Happy Holidays and all the best to Kith and Kin! I would love to personally thank all the senders. Feel free to get in touch.

  14. My SS is jacobraccuia Pictures: DUDE A FUCKING MONDO PRINT?? So stoked on this, it's actually my first Mondo print. I actually have never read the book or seen the movie, but it's been on my to-read/watch list for a long time, a lot of people have recommended it to me. This actually prompted me to jump on Amazon and grab a copy. I really dig the print, it has a very cool, 2001 style vibe to it. (I used a stock photo because I didn't actually unroll it, I was frightened my son would get his grubby hands on it, haha) Starflyer 59 - Talking Voice vs Singing Voice - Thank you!! I'm always excited to add to my (currently very small) SF59 collection, everything Jason does is gold. This has been on my wantlist forever. Nine Inch Nails - (OG) Pretty Hate Machine - Another one on my list for a long time that I've never picked up. Both of these records will get a lot of play! Loved the note, and love that you thought of sending me that notorious beer. I send beer over the boarder every year for SS, but I'm always taking a huge gamble that the whole package will be confiscated, haha. Cheers man, well done! (left you feedback, because why the fuck not?)

  22. Here's a picture of my full Yellowcard collection. This picture is about a year old. Since it was taken, they've released a Record Store Day exclusive 10" that includes b-sides from their album Life a Sail and a split 7" with New Found Glory that went along with their Fall 2015 tour where they covered each others songs. Both of which, I have. I'm waiting until they release their next album to take another picture.

  25. Except that's a terrible comparison. Seriously, it's not the same at all. So here's a good comparison: It'd be much more like if I owned the patent for a car, and some guy starts making cars using my patent, but for much cheaper, and is taking business away from me. He's keeping it small, and maybe I'm not even making money from that division right now, but I could be, and I'm losing that money because of him. Money maybe I need, maybe I don't. Doesn't matter: I'm losing that potential revenue stream, and somebody else is gaining from it. Furthermore anybody who buys cars from that guy are getting a potentially inferior product, and aren't protected by consumer rights laws, which could potentially leave my company with bad reputation, though I did nothing wrong. If I go to the cops, they'll ask him to stop, but I'll potentially never be able to recoup the damages, and now I've got a product tainted by an outside source which ends up costing me money. Or it's like I'm a no name artist, and Target steals my design and makes millions, and I can do nothing about it because I can't afford the legal fees,so I just get screwed and my career ruined for being derivative, when it was my art, (true account that). That's what it's like. Saying it's like having my car stolen is as bad as those ridiculous Hollywood warnings before films. It's absolutely different, and bootlegging can be potentially more damaging depending on the scope it's being sold at, to be fair, and that's why it's prosecuted different in courts. So yeah, I stand by what I said.

  26. I dont buy it... she would either have to be to old or too young, the timelines dont match up.I would also hate that... im sick of all the heredity talk. In 1-3 there were tons of jedis from all over of all races. The leader was an 800 year old frog. Im tired of people thinking everyone needs to be related. Not saying that is what youre aiming for, but thats definitely the general opinion. The Skywalkers were literal nobodies in the order of the force for hundreds of years, would be a shame if now the force was entirely dependent on a solitary bloodline. Could sell a ton of toys for Disney i guess. But would be way too cutesy for me and i would probably have to give up my love of Star Wars if every new character was somehow related to an old one. :\

  27. Saw a ton of great bands this year. I finally saw Mount Eerie, and it was the perfect intimate settingIn a record store, with around 60 other people, all sitting on the floor. It was incredible. I got to see Robert Plant in a 1,200 person venue. At $100 a ticket, it was the most I've ever paid to see one band, but it was totally worth it. It exceeded my high expectations. He played plenty of Zeppelin songs including Going to California, Rock and Roll, Whole Lotta Love, What Is And What Never Should Be, Dazed and Confused, The Lemon Song, The Wanton Song, and Black Dog. I saw Father John Misty co headline a show with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The energy there was incredible. BMRC don't tour a lot, so I'm glad I was finally able to catch them. I took a road trip with a few friends to the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas to see Jack White, as always, he was great. I'm glad I got to see him one more time before he went on a touring hiatus. I wish I could have made it to the Idaho or Wyoming acoustic shows, but I just couldn't make it work with how last minute they were announced.

  28. Also this year, I got to see the Boston Symphony perform my actual favorite piece of music of all time. Dmitri Shostakovich's 5th symphony. Saw that, and the Deafheaven/envy lineup within ten days of each other. 2015 ruled.

  36. I've got a cool little Ormolycka story for you kids, so gather round! So on the Death Grups subreddit, a post popped up discussing the DG tapes being restocked. Most of the comments were about Orm's bad reputation as a seller. I've had the same experience with him, so I commented this: "Ordered October of last year and he's ignored everything I've ever sent him. Never got anything. He actually opened a second email to deal with "where's my order" inquiries since he had so many, and he never responded to a single message on that email. He even had to give up Paypal as a form of payment from so many unresolved order claims being filed. He's a legit scam artist, stop supporting him" To my surprise, Orm himself direct messaged me on Reddit in response to this post: "FUCK YOU UP THE ASS YOU FUCK. YOU WOULDVE GOTTEN YOUR ORDER IF YOU WAITED. YOU SHITS. IM TIRED OF GETTING EMAILS ASKING "IS IT SAFE TO BUY FROM YOU? I HEAR A LOT OF NEGATIVE STUFF". ITS YOU PIKES THATS CAUSING THIS. FUCK YOU. SHUT YER FUCKING PIE HOLE. KEYBOARD BITCH. ILL SUE YOU" Nice. The one form of contact I've gotten from this guy since he took my money more than a year ago for nothing. I love how somewhere in his mind he's actually rationalized blaming his paying customers for his own incompetency as a merchant. It's almost poetic. Y'know what? Thanks for the inspiration, ORM. I'm going to have a text-to-speech read this comment, and I'll remix it into a Death Grips instrumental. I'll press that to a tape and ship it to you, and you'll still get it quicker than I'll ever get my fucking order.

  37. Is there any way we could take the music from a 12 inch and store it digitally? Like, imagine having a bunch of albums, like maybe 4 or 5 (lets not get crazy) in some sort of portable listening device? Man, that'd be some world.
