Crazy thing happened today. 6 years ago we bought a house and there was a side door to the house into the laundry room that the previous owner had bolted shut after having their house broken into. We never bothered to use it and left the bolted locks on it, just put the cats shitting box in front of the door and never thought about it for the past 6 years. Fast forward to today, me and my daughter were outside playing in the first snowfall of the year and decided to bug the shit out of my wife who was cranky inside the house playing some nicky nicky nine doors on her. We started at the front door of course but then decided to open the screen door at the side of the house to give a knock to that bolted up side door with the cats shit box on the other side. I guess I had never opened that outside side door since we moved in 6 years ago as to my shock sitting there was a uline type record mailer with bugs and crud all over it. I checked the date stamped on it and it was friggin May if 2012. The damn thing had been there for almost 5 years!! What the hell! I was sure it would be a disaster after opening that mailer up as it had basically been outside here in Canada for all that time. The sender did a great job packing it as the bloody thing was in great shape still! I had no clue what was inside though but doubted it was something of any value and was probably something I had either purchased again or didn't give a crap about anymore. Well it was neither, it was a record still on my want list that I never managed to get around to purchasing and the only album by this band I was still missing on vinyl. It was the original pressing of the Photo Album by Death Cab for Cutie and I know it was the original as the repress came out like 2 years after that damn package was delivered to the side door!

Sorry, it's be a while, but here's the pics! As I said, the box was pretty damn big: Inside were 3 wrapped gifts.. one was pretty heavy: The heavy one was a daft punk boxset i'd been wanting for a while! Second was a couple records. One was one of my favorite albums FUNKADELIC!!! I hadn't heard of the other band but have been giving them a listen and I like what I hear! The last box was a rad Lego set fully equipped with moose! All in all, I loved the gift! Based on the clues that the note had has, my SS this year was: Green Tea Papi Thanks dude!

So...for shits & giggles, I emailed the customer service dept.: Hi all! I have a quick question about today's autographed 1989 vinyl LP. Do you pack and ship it in proper LP mailers or large boxes where it may get damaged from bouncing around? I ask because I'm a long-time vinyl listener and collector and want to make sure that such an item, as pricey it is, arrives in tip-top shape. Thanks for everything always! Ok my first copy of this had such bad surface noise I got a replacement and it's the same exact thing. Terrible scratching noise throughout the entire A-side and I didn't check the B-side. Anyone else? I guess I'm not too mad because the record was a let down but still.

Jason, just read that the Omega is the same body as most of the OM line of carts. That means you can grab any OM stylus (OM10 - OM40) and improve your sound without having to buy a new cart. The OM10 is a red, OM20 is blue, etc. You can also buy 3rd party styli, like the JICO OM30, for cheap. 3rd party stylus seem to have longer cantilevers, so you'd need to realign the cart. accordingly. I recommend double checking alignment after a stylus change anyway, but usually official ones should be exactly the same. JICO OM30 $66, ships from their factory in Japan. LPGear selection of Ortofon Styli $17ppd Pfanstiehl stylus people give some praise. Cantilever looks longer, so will needs alignment adjustments. Worth a shot for the price.

finally! Mamiffer: The World Unseen on cassette is up for PO. I know ...they have a 4 month old baby and that does sort of alter life a little bit (we have 4 kids) /100, $10 per usual Faith has some artwork, and there is an Endon 'MAMA' CS up as well for $10. Surprised there are still Statu Nascendi CS available. I love that album.

August Burns Red - Messengers (/700 Clear w/Red Splatter) Last record of their main discography I needed, and arguably one of their best. Got this for ridiculously cheap, too; and it's in great shape.
