I guess I'm glad I saw this thread, as I've made a purchase from Homework as well. I don't generally jump to conclusions on people, even 10 days in to the order. Things happen, shipping can take longer than expected, people have lives. I wasn't really even bothered that I've gotten no tracking info - I don't need it and I never use it, and I didn't think about it till I saw this thread and went back to our messages and he said expect it in a few days. I didn't gift, so this will be my first PayPal dispute ever and my sole VC order that didn't go through if I dont receive my records. Hope it doesn't come to that. I am always baffled by this type of behavior, though. It's happened with various people on this site, not a lot, but a couple notable ones. Musicveins11 or something? This disappearing act thing. If something major happened in your life, fine. No one cares. You can't pretend like you 'forgot' you owed a bunch of people stuff, though. It shouldn't even be a 'what's going on with this guy' discussion. When you don't deliver things or just disappear, you kinda just dropped the ball and have to live with the results of that. You lost the privilege of asking people to be patient or being offended that people would insinuate that you're a bad person. Posting that giant ass post is okay, I guess - people know you're alive - but you didn't answer a lot of questions people had, and if you have time to write a post or lurk, people are most likely wondering why you're not using that time to refund people or ship records. I REALLY don't understand this guy-on-the-side tactic of having someone else go 'everyone be patient guys, let's allow him time to come to the thread and respond, he's a good person etc'. Not trying to talk shit about you Jim, i just hope you can appreciate how much that sounds like you're making excuses for this person, and defending something that cannot be defended. Anyway. Yeah, I really enjoyed his previous in-depth analyses, and while this one started out a bit weak, I think he touched on most of the important points. I especially appreciated the fact that he pointed out how people (both professional reviewers and average moviegoers) fail to acknowledge the technical and artistic aspects of a movie, though I don't agree with what he mentioned as the primary focus of those reviews, because in my opinion by far the most discussed aspect of a movie isn't the visual information, as he put it, but actually the story, more specifically the plot development. Either way, the fact that things like cinematography, direction, editing, the many different aspects of actors' performances etc. are always left out of the conversation really bums me out. I understand that it's way easier for us to judge "stories" than all those other attributes because we, in our daily life, have way more experience with "stories", but still, movie enthusiasts and, more importantly, actual reviewers have the mileage behind them to know and do better. I also wish he talked a bit more about the fact that the familiar "general outline" of the story is actually much less of a focus but rather a backdrop in this film and that the real narrative is really quite, not unique, but definitely different for this franchise and much more detailed emotionally, however it is not told via the event-guided narration but through character interaction and expression, so it's a bit more subtle than usually. But he may have talked about it in more detail and I'm simply forgetting it, I just got back from the Hateful Eight so that youtube vid isn't the freshest thing in my memory right now.

Two older-ish movies I watched recently: The Canal: We'll made and good acting, but wholly predictable. I like creepy, subtle, shadow monster stuff. A solid B- Martyrs: Yeah, I know, "where you been, dummy?" When this came out I walked into a friend's house while they had it on so I didn't watch it because I didn't want to start in the middle. Then I ended up watching the last 10 minutes, figured I had seen the (admittedly amazing) reveal and assumed the rest was torture porn. I don't deal with that so I wrote it off, figuring I got the jist of it. Ended up watching it this weekend and was happy to see it's not really torture porn at all. Pretty brutal for sure, but no Hostel or that shit. TL;DR: Great movie, A-. Interested to see how the American version fucks it up.

No doubt Travis gets pretty fed up of getting asked about the same releases, as his previous post on it gets lost in all the nonsense!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured. I thought about buying the PS4 version regardless for the soundtrack, like you, so they may get more money from me yet. I've got to think on it. But yeah, limited to 5? That doesn't even make sense. If this is a test press, or the only US release with a special sleeve/slipcase/etc. Sure, great, that's awesome, but why even bother to press it at all if they're going to release 5 copies? That's just insane, and it's crap on top of what I already said. It makes zero sense. Hopefully we'll find out about a Japanese release soon, and that this was a test press, because I really can't fathom they'd pay to have a lathe cut only 5 records, or even crazier that they'd have a press made only for 5 copies. SquareEnix has proved repeatedly that they're willing to alienate certain sections of their fans over and over (following Konami's lead in many ways), but overall they've also proved they're cheapskates, so it doesn't seem likely we won't see a wider release at some point, even if it is only in Japan with these being the only English only releases. That's my two cents anyway. I think you just have to order a physical copy, not just the digital download.

Mmm, from what it sounded like, it was only for people who purchased PHYSICAL deluxe editions. Whether it be for PS4, XBone, or PC. But I totally get what you're saying Lunchbox. I would rather they just press even 500 copies of this or something. Anything but this "limited to 5" bullshit. Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll see a somewhat different release if they see the demand. I mean, I've already downloaded/played through all the episodes on my PS4, so half the reason I preordered the deluxe edition was for the CD soundtrack. This "sweepstakes" was just a bonus. This game just needs more "licensed" products. Possibly my favorite game of last year.

I received the Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross records today. Very, very, very beautiful presentation. I haven't listened to the records yet but the quality of the whole thing makes up for the high price. The gatefold is made out of sturdy, yet slim cardboard. I took a few quick pictures of everything. Only bummer was (as always) SE's packaging. It came in a huge box with some plastic air bags. Thankfully nothing was damaged. I love the note they always put on the receipts (see the last picture) - I wonder if they actually ship any 45€ records out in a jiffy bag. ps: sorry for the picture heavy post...
