The problem is that this is the most selfish, self-centered, self-important and self-gratifying way you could possibly look at this. The fact that it was limited shouldn't have been a selling point for anybody. It seems like the limitation was more of a fact of "we can afford to manufacture 2000 copies of this set with no prior knowledge of how many we can sell" and NOT that you were supposed to be comforted by the idea that you are 1 of a potential 2000 individuals who own a copy of this numbered item and are now part of this exclusive club and that the exclusivity itself should carry some sort of actual value or that it should be valued by the purchaser. That's baby shit. That's vinyl bubble and collector-mentality shit. Here we have a band whose merch provider fucked up. They saw then that the demand goes WELL beyond the 2000 units. To make their fans happy AND maybe make a bit more money off of a body of work that is a). deeply appreciated by so many b). specialized on a format that has gained popularity and exists in a niche market wherein the value of out of print materials sky-rockets and the scarcity forces fans to choose between nothing and a huge premium to enjoy the product, they press more copies without numbers. Why shouldn't an album be pressed in the numbers to satisfy the whole or at least the majority of the fanbase who prefer the specified format? This is the most self-centered problem to have with a vinyl record pressing. They're making more because bands like to sell albums. The vinyl format, especially a special packaging set of 4 LP's is very difficult to have pressed and to afford the production on. So they got the opportunity to see that they could sell more. So they're making more. GOOD!

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly AREidiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Picked up The Great Milenko because #nostalgia. I bought it from the same record store I bought the CD from when I was 13.

Crazy thing I DIDN'T think of: the band is gonna make a shit ton of money off this mistake.

I don't remember the whole numbered thing being mentioned anywhere but here. Sure they said they were making 2000 available but I genuinely didn't see anything about them being numbered. Glad that even though me n my friends managed to snag a set each when they popped up early the band have done the only decent thing they could and decided to expand the pressing. Couldn't care less if there are numbers or if there isn't only 2000 in circulation anymore, as long as everyone gets a fair shake at getting what they want and the flippers and profiteers get fucked I'm happy.

I don't think what he's saying is at all unreasonable. I'm happy to own a copy regardless, but I think it's dumb to try to say you have no grounds to be upset if you don't get the same product you originally ordered.

Not strictly Oceansize related but in the last mailout from Mike he basically outlined that Vennart two is all but written and studio time is booked for january. He's promised more variety and more riffs this time around.

I'd agree, but it's such a minor thing. For me it's like when the mock-up of the LP variant ends up looking entirely different than the production copy, I just shrug and move on...

Between Canada Post and USPS someone fucked up my deluxe shipment so badly it was sent back to Superior Viaduct on Thanksgiving, meaning it won't be addressed until tomorrow, meaning I'll probably receive this in December. I have six outstanding pre-order deliveries going back to late January, and so far 5 of them are MIA or FUBAR. Joy.
