  4. When lack of music taste is combined with the urge to collect something familiar you get a soundtrack buyer. Videogame soundtracks are worse cuz you need to buy the soundtrack to any game you remotely liked no matter the price.

  5. Just wanted to also hop on here & say that my red pressing sounds like crap. Rather than "mastered for vinyl", it sounds like they just pressed the unmastered stereo bounce. The volume is super low, there are virtually no low mids and the snare is WAY louder than everything else. I'll hold onto mine just because there isn't a better pressing that exists but I'm definitely going to let SRC know that they fucked this up. Pretty annoyed.

  6. Back during the peak "fighting invisible ninjas while wearing girl jeans" era I went to 3 Unearth shows and always left before they played. It wasn't anything against them, I just wanted to see the opening bands more and had other shit to do. (In the sake of fairness, I'll admit I still wear girl jeans and occasionally do pit ninja shit)

  10. Lol, so I excitedly explained getting the blue copy in from Amazon and the ordeal of not knowing which color, etc to my fiance, and she just looks at me and goes: "So, you just got another copy of something you already own?" XD She's not wrong. I refrained from telling her about the Green variant...

  15. Really dug some of the stuff on their last album. Hope they fully expand their sound on this one. They still haven't hit their full potential.

  24. Pretty sure that so long as they got the zip code correct, it will arrive. Once it gets to the correct zip code, there's a good chance that your regular carrier will know the correct names of the streets he/she delivers to.

  34. Wouldn't it have been easier just to say "one to use and one to jerk off to'"? A couple things: Comparing records to guns is crazy. The wear and tear from regular use on a firearm, and especially if you're running yours as hard as you claim/banging them around is infinitely more than on a record, which is usually handled with care, and when played on a properly calibrated setup is very little. It's less that I didn't know why people do it, it's more that it is hard for me to wrap my head around the mentality that you feel the need to have two copies of a set of records so you can keep one "pristine." Like I said though, to each their own. I'm not saying you shouldn't do you, I'm just saying it's not my bag. Also, one to keep and one to collect sound like the same thing... I assume you mean one to play and one to stare at without opening.

  35. I would have been into this is they did this like the Hot Water Music collection Rise put out. Pick a few songs from each night album and put it on one side each. 4xLP in one package as opposed to an 8 LP box set. Minus well just crack out the other box set. Pass.

  38. Cheers, I've made the plunge. First vinyl record I've bought since buying Master of Puppets from a second hand store for $5 about 15 years ago as it happens. Just getting back into the vinyl, good start to the collection I think. Ixnay was one of my favourite albums as a teenager

  41. Ha, sorry! Got caught up in work. Here's what was in my secret santa package: First off, my SS sent me a stack of various download codes and stickers, which will be put to good use. I'm especially stoked on that Tuesday sticker — I love anything Dan Andriano related. (Also, SS, there was a folded up $5 bill in with the download codes — not sure if that was on purpose or not, but thanks regardless!) Next, I got an Onyx cassette (perfect for bumping in my old-ass car stereo, which still plays tapes), a dope Jeff Rosenstock slipmat, and the complete Sports Night series on DVD! It's literally one of the best, most underappreciated TV shows of all time, and I can't wait to re-watch it. Then I got some cool-looking flexis — I'm not familiar with either band, but I'm guessing they're both on the Oi! spectrum. Looking forward to checking them out! My SS must've been lurking my Discogs want list, as this is on there — it's a UK-only single by Mates Of State, a band I've loved for a long time, that I've been meaning to pick up for some time but never got around to. Stoked to finally have it! But wait, there's more: My SS threw in three LPs from the Falcon, the Copyrights and Farewell Continental. I'm already familiar with all three bands and happy to add them all to my collection! Last but not least, my SS got me a Oneders T-shirt! That Thing You Do! is one of my top movies EVER, and this was totally unexpected and awesome. I'm literally wearing the shirt right now as I type this, so here's a picture of the shirt design: This was an awesome package, and I'm super-appreciative for all the thought that went into it. Based on the clues provided, I'm guessing my Secret Santa is @ozfacter. Am I right?

  44. It was extremely hard to figure it out, I had to reread all the bios multiple times and you had Baroness, Pallbearer and Hot Water Music (the first song on the mixtape you sent me was HWM) in your faves. What through me off was the Criterion film because someone else in their bio said they were huge fans and then the rebel alliance sticker also through me off because several people said they liked Sar Wars (including you). I'm glad I made the right guess. Also I forgot to mention, I'm excited to pop your mixtape you made me in my car. I've never heard almost all of those bands.
