  1. Reposting this from the other thread so people see. Leviathan's Tenth Sub Level of Suicide is getting a repress. http://www.moribundcult.com/product/DEAD43LP.html Grey/black splatter 2xLP, $33.99. Also, Abruptum's Bandcamp added a new run of colored, non-picture disc pressings of Obscuritatem and In Umbra. Limited to 100 copies. Missed the first round of clear/metallic smoke, so I jumped on these. 9 of each left on Bandcamp, but there are some more at www.ipr666shop.com Sorry if somebody's already posted these!

  2. This thread has made my recent attempt to save money very difficult. I absolutely love so much of the music I've discovered here it's totally worth the damage to my bank account.

  3. All of this over a one sided, one song single. I'm completely over it. Streaming will work fine and I don't have to make Jack richer. Win, win.

  5. Had this thought listening in my car yesterday. Also kinda heard some Weezer In the Garage in there, but in the same way that one Brand New song kinda sounded like it.

  6. While I’ve tracked down most of the 12”s, I wished they had put out a singles box set collecting all of the b-sides on vinyl when they did the album box set a few years back.

  9. You can probably feel it already. Amid the shimmering haze of dusk. In the marrow of your bones. The darkness is getting darker. Malevolent forces are on the prowl. The wasteland is beckoning. Uncle Acid is on his way home. A disorientating journey through Kevin Starrs (AKA Uncle Acid)’ wonkiest dreams, Wasteland glides majestically from punchy and direct psych-rock anthems like "I See Through You" and "Shockwave City" to the viscous, somnambulant ooze of the eight-minute "No Return" and the twinkly-eyed bad trip of the album’s mesmerising title track. Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound studio in Los Angeles, Wasteland boasts the kind on irresistibly raw and exuberant sound that only the greatest bands can generate. Yet more confirmation that Uncle Acid exist in their own musical universe, Wasteland is also a powerful cautionary tale: one rooted in the alien landscapes of Starrs’ imagination, but with a very clear connection to the deranged chaos of today’s political world. As humanity cheerfully circles the plughole, Dystopian visions and present-day horrors have become more-or-less interchangeable, making Wasteland’s ghoulish surrealism a lot more pertinent and disturbing in the process. While most musicians seem content to chase their own (or other people’s tails), Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats remain proud and resolute individualists and Wasteland is simply their most powerful and memorable spurge of creativity to date. Masterfully echoing the magical atmospheres of heavy music’s turbulent past while sounding entirely unlike anything else available to human ears, this is what happens when the shadows come to life and suffocating darkness, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats style, is the only show in town. 1. I See Through You 2. Shockwave City 3. No Return 4. Blood Runner 5. Stranger Tonight 6. Wasteland 7. Bedouin 8. 12. I had a mixed reaction to this album after two or three listens on Spotify, but today I got to sit with my copy and read the lyrics and just focus on it. Gotta say that it sounds much better on vinyl to me and I ended up enjoying it much more. TLDR: slapper/10

  19. absolutely. which makes sense since they have covered that song a bunch. US/We/Are also has a completely lifted riff from Bush - Swallowed. part of why i love this album is it scratches my middle school 90s alternative rock itch.

  20. Some polarizing opinions on what I figured would be a universal slapper. Anyone else get a Creep vibe from Us/We/Are? I can't place exactly why.

  21. I am undecided on the SLAPPINESS of the album. It def doesn't GAPE. Not in the slightest. If you are referring to this album feeling SLAPPED together then, yes, 100% it SLAPS.

  22. edsawesomesounds has it for $27 and free shipping if you like their Facebook and get a discount code. I cancelled my Amazon since my order status says "delivery date pending" and it's cheaper through EAS anyway.

  23. nope. the original reissue deal was inked with Virgin/EMI. But Virgin again changed hands and management after Adore came out, and they weren't interested in doing more reissues the way Corgan wanted to. So he just abandoned it. He was more focused on new music at the time anyway. Now that Jimmy and James are back and they're playing the old songs, I think he became motivated to get the reissues rolling again. Machina/Machina II as originally planned is the most important reissue anyway. It's the one album that was never truly finished. Though, I am also interested in the Greatest Hits CD boxset as he said it would finally contain the Metro DVD. I also want a Zwan reissue because there were so many more songs recorded that never got released. (Spun soundtrack, ETC)

  24. I'm sure if you get in contact with Jonah by whatever means (social media/email), he'd be more than happy to let you switch it out and pay the difference. One of the most humble and genuine people in music -- and extremely approachable.

  25. I do have the tide and its takers. Not the greatest sound quality For vinyl but it's been awhile since I've listened to it. As I recall I think it's a bit noisy on the floor. I will never get rid of it though because I'm a completist and crazy about this band. Just need rest inside the flames in my collection will be complete

  30. It's great to see this album get continued recognition. I remember downloading it from emusic, maybe in 2006 or something, and not really knowing what to think about out, just knowing that it was special. I've been consistently returning to it and it keeps getting better.

  32. It is a greatest hits show with an unvarying setlist. 3 songs doesn't sound like much, but there are a lot of songs from the previous albums that need to be included.
