  1. If the worst thing that happens to you is this....Consider yourself lucky When you grow up, the least of your problems will be some variant record, whining on a messageboard about flipping or how complaining they didn't help you out. Nobody owes anything in this world, especially some dude of the internet. This record is out in mass production to the public. No need to own a variant if its overpriced. Trust me, the songs are the same on this as the version you already own

  2. Find something new to bitch about for fucks sake. He isn't killing anyone, just trying to make a buck. It's called opportunity. Supply and demand. Basic economics. Flipping fucking happens and will for the rest of time. Just because it's higher than you can afford, doesn't make him an asshole. @stl_ben keep doing you. deal with it. And I can GUARANTEE at least one of you people bitching about it have done it.

  6. I have helped some people out on VC and have been helped. I guess my suggestion to people bitching is help out as many people here as you can and maybe the favor will be returned. I put out a request for the Stooges and MC5 and didn't get them. I wasn't surprised. If I had helped out one of the people who went then I would have a reason to be upset. Other than that, most of us have sold records for more than we paid. It really isn't a big deal. It's a bummer people get so pissed about it. Bottom line is start helping out other folks in the "community" and build up your favors owed. I know a lot of you do just that.

  7. Guys - we have a racist, misogynist president put in place by a foreign power who's abolishing the first amendment and actively seeks to close our borders. I think we have better things to do than get hostile with follow record collectors over the latest Third Man variants.

  8. Same animal really. When I put Supermachiner to bed, I kept writing and recording. This first proper album release is the next chapter of the world of non-Converge music for me. If you enjoyed/related to the Supermachiner release, you will likely this as well. Thanks Juan.

Picked up the tour variant last night and Chris was hanging out by their merch booth after their set so I got him to sign it. Super nice guy!

  12. So here's my collection up to this point. All of my tattoos are from different artists, a lot of whom are from different parts of the world and were traveling near me. My right arm is (mostly) color and my left arm is (so far) all blackwork. My first tattoo was from Alex Zampiri with a quote from Millstone: Then I have an anglerfish from Tomas Garcia: And a carousel horse from Ivan Soyars which was inspired by a line in I Must Belong Somewhere by Bright Eyes: And a burning house from Noel'le Longhaul: And a heart dagger from Emi Lynn Holler: And a two-headed swan creature from Zox Svetorovich: And a lightbulb with peace lilies from Andy Robinson. This is the only one with a really deep emotional meaning; on my parent's first date my dad brought my mom home several hours late and my grandmother was pissed. So, on their next date, he brought my grandmom a peace lily plant as an apology. When I was a kid I remember watching it grow larger and larger over the years. My grandmom died last year, so this was a memorial piece for me to remember her by: And a famous flash cat from Katya Krasnova: This crazy acid spider from Chimu Grigio: And finally (to match my avatar) the radio from The Brave Little Toaster from Adam Perjatel (the only picture I have of it its still wrapped in tegaderm):

  17. Add me to the list of people who think it's absolutely absurd to expect an stranger on the internet to help you out, if it happens that's awesome but you certainly can't expect it. If I know something is instantly going to increase in value and I can buy two copies you better believe I'm going to buy an extra copy for trade or to make some money. I've "flipped" records and I've bought records for flipped prices. I got unlucky with this and ended up having to pay more than retail ($515 shipped for all 8 records) but I was comfortable with that price. I've also helped friends out and they have helped me. Do what you are comfortable with and let other people do what they want. This isn't anything essential to life or anything even mildly important, it's just records.

  20. Exactly. I help people, but only people I know and trust. We may have not had deals made in the past, but there's been respect for said person because of the board. Its a two way street. these idiots who think that they're owed something because of "the boards, so they must be my friend" are ludicrous.

  21. If the trip put you into debt you probably shouldn't have went. It isn't smart to plan a trip you can't afford around the idea that you'll pay for it later gouging people on records you bought on the trip.

    any anime nerds?

I'm absolutely loving the OG Berserk right now. I plowed through like... 8 or 9 episodes last night. Probably won't even bother touching the new one. Not a fan of the animation at all. I need to get around to watching Tokyo Ghoul and My Hero Academia at some point too. I've heard great things about Tokyo Ghoul, and MHA just looks and sounds really cool.

  25. He didn't even say this was the worst thing that has happened to him. He said that "people can be the worst." So don't go handing down some "When you grow up..." patronizing bullshit, like you're all enlightened while you defend the inherent shitty-ness of other peoples actions. and way to like his post stl_ben you scumbag. I hope the greed that makes you help no one out but yourself gets you all the things you want in life.

  26. What should have been said is that Merge offers free shipping and tax is included in the price. I thought this would come out closer to $50 shipped , but was extremely excited to see it stay at $36. That's not that bad for a 3xLP

  35. I like my buddy Daniel's opinion on the matter... "Honestly, some say this is censorship, but this is just the other side of the coin that is the relationship that the press has with the White House administration. When Obama was in office they traded admiration and praise for access, secret intelligence sources, and overall whitewashing through the guise of information. While during the campaign they traded access for praise of hillary and demonization of Trump. Now they're dealing with the demon, it's not about censorship or morality, but revenge. While yes, having inconsistent standards for different outlets is unfair, when has the state ever been fair about anything? Now the press knows how the public should feel."

  39. I feel like not one post in this thread (including ROBO's post) mentioned that this sucker is 45RPM. I just threw this on and was shocked to find this out. In other news, this master sounds pretty amazing. There's a great deal of clarity. I've never played another copy from the first press on the setup I'm currently using but I feel like there is definitely some major work put in to this new master. So much space and room for all the crazy shit that's going on in every song. Anyway, this master is pretty exciting. There was an energy in one of the guitar passages in "Ghost Key" that buzzed so potently, I though something was vibrating in the room I was in. Just finishing side B and I'm impressed so far.

  46. Thoughts I had while listening to this album today: Is this good? Is this bad? Is this a joke? Is this transcendent? If so, is it because it's good or bad? Why are the most ridiculous tracks also the best tracks? Did he just reference the medulla oblongata? Did he just get kinda serious all of a sudden? Overall I liked the production throughout and I was a bit confused by some of it...probably will listen again, though
