  6. First off, the whole package is fucking amazing. The Pinwheel looks great. Haven't listened yet(or to any of the "singles"), but I know it's gonna slap. Lastly, you can do what I did: put a thin cardboard flat in the bag, then take the o-ring put that shit in the jacket, and then put all of that and the jacket, containing the record, in a poly bag. Boooom! Easy access and everything is good.

  7. Finally got to listen to this last night, and it's a fantastic second half to what TEAATB brought to the table, mashing up the best of that record with their more industrial leanings. I loved the last record, but (recency bias, I know) I might like this one even more.

  9. am I the only one getting $16 shipping *in the US*?!? is it being hand-delivered by the guy on the skateboard from the Apocalyptical video?
    1 point
  10. Yeah. As someone that’s been carrying mail for a few months now I can tell you it was either a person that’s never done that route before and was filling in for a regular and genuinely got confused or they just missed your package in the truck and didn’t have time to drop it off. It’s rare but remember that mistakes can happen and your delivery person probably had the best intentions (hopefully)

  11. I’ve had that happen on days where I was at home waiting on the mailman. It’s really code for “I fucked up and missed this until it was too late to go back”.

  12. Spoonwood Brewing in Pittsburgh had the Screamin Danger IPA when they were in town for the Color Before The Sun tour. They had a little release party before the show that the band showed up to as well.

  13. I feel similar, but I also enjoyed among the ghosts. Some really great tunes on that record. I just didn’t dig the Memphis blues thing they had going for a while, but it was awesome they experimented with it.

  14. I'll take any and all things Ben / Lucero. I moved to the Nashville area 2 years ago and they've only played here once, was supposed to see them in Feb but that got delayed until January. Just crazy to me that they are from 3 hours away and play back home in LA more often than they do here.

  24. obviously I'm that asshole who's been listening to the record since late July (and actually spoke with Nicky about it - more on that soon) but I think it's their best since GoE. the record is incredibly diverse for a Nothing record and doesn't just stay in that shoe gaze lane the entire time. An incredible step up from Dance on the Blacktop (which I really liked) and just above Tired of Tomorrow for me. GoE will always have the nostalgic edge for me but objectively this is right up there if not better.

  25. I hope so! I’m hoping for a UK/EU store to get it, don’t really want to pay stupid money for shipping and handling
    1 point
  26. Not sure about that. This is what the shop in St. Pete shows when you look up the upcoming releases. Same clear orange Anthem and clear blue B-Sides shows up for some other retailers including Popmarket. The UK B-Sides isn't clear blue, it's solid blue with some black swirl.

  31. I'm just as confused that it hasn't sold out, maybe just because everyone really wants the 2xLP and is hoping discogs prices drop to compensate for these? I wan't to believe it's only /1500 since that's all MOV has said about it.

  32. Really glad I picked up a copy of this. Haven't listened through the album on Spotify yet, but the couple snippets of songs I've heard I've really dug. The art looks awesome when you open up the gatefold.

  35. I actually thought you could still buy a decent copy for those prices. My copy is only vg, but it's deep groove and sounds great. That is the cool thing about those old Blue Notes.

  36. Just listened to my stereo '65 record club pressing of A Love Supreme. I compared this to the newly received Kevin Gray pressing. The overall sound is close, but the '65 pressing is a bit more lively, especially the sounds of the percussion. I've noticed this with most recent pressings compared to originals. The new are slightly muted and less colorful. This is most apparent when comparing Blue Train. This one isn't as noticeable and is a perfectly good alternative if you can't track down a '65 pressing. If you already have the first, or I suspect most early pressings, you really don't need this one. Just one non-audiophile's opinion.
