  1. Used that 20% off the other day. Got three separate packages in all in giant pizza boxes. Only one record was super damaged and now I have to ship it back to get a replacement. Shipping it back in the giant pizza box. Wrote in sharpie on the inside lid of the box “stop shipping records like this”.

  7. This is finally out on vinyl. There is/was an exclusive pressing for VMP that was open to members early this week. It was supposed to open up to non-members today but the first 500 copies (on Mortal Red Galaxy) sold out in the first day. Joe dropped info on Twitter that the black version will go up for preorder next week, so anyone who missed this and wants it, keep an eye out. If anyone on the board got an extra VMP, hit me up. https://www.vinylmeplease.com/products/djo-twenty-twenty?variant=32566235562074

  8. That is crazy, but good for her if people will buy it. I'll wait for Profound Lore to repress. It's grown on me over time, but wouldn't spin it often.

    Virus Popups on Mobile Site

Seems to have been "fixed". We're still going to get the top & bottom ad pop-ups on mobile, but after x'ing them out, they'll be muted for 60 minutes. So if you still browse within that timeframe, you'll not get any pop-ups on any and all pages.

  14. Isn't that always the case with that sort of content?

  15. At least Bridge Nine gives their test pressings a unique variant look. There are a number of people paying these prices for literally only a plain sleeve and white center label from other labels/bands.

    Virus Popups on Mobile Site

Yeah it’s been happening to me on both mobile and desktop for the past month or so. It’s pretty obnoxious. Luckily I’m usually just working on something from home. So whenever it happens it’s just a quick whacking and then back to business as usual.

  23. Yeah I've seen that too. It's just more than double and would have been cheaper to get them separately 😂. I emailed to see, but I won't be super upset over a a few bucks

  24. There's no maybe, the person who did the art said there will be more a few posts before yours. Nothing wrong with paying a premium for Newbury (that is a nice variant) but I'm always gonna point out there are/will be cheaper options when it isn't obvious.

  25. That's on Good Fight, not EOne, which is why they aren't repressing it. Silly goose.

  26. Based on the 2 posts above, I’m going to just cut to the discussion and ask... why? If the presentation is junk, and the sound quality is butt, why even waste the money on a boot? Is it the epitome of hoarding or consumerism? Is it being able to feel proud that the album – or some bastardized rendition of it – physically resides on the shelf? I’ll never understand it. Vinyl is a nice, albeit spendy medium to enjoy music. The extra cost and effort to play the music is typically justified by the immersion, the physical presentation, or the enhanced audio – if it’s been properly mastered and not just digitally ripped. We’re talking about downgrading those things on all fronts, and paying someone $50+ to do so? What am I missing? For the vast majority, boots are boots for a reason. They miss the entire mark of what vinyl has to offer. I’m not a purist who insists that OG copies are the only answer (especially if a repress or reissue is available for cheaper), but willingly paying $40+ just to spin a shit version of something you could just as easily stream at better quality... what’s the purpose? Arguing that it may never get pressed or repressed? Okay. I mean, I guess. But it’s remarkable how many “impossible” releases I’ve seen come to fruition over the years. Albums where the masters were (allegedly) lost for years on end, or where the rights were gridlocked in court by the labels. It just takes time. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see Frank Ocean’s Blonde reissued someday, despite the insistence it’ll never happen again. At the end of the day it’s your money and I’m not going to seethe over the way you spend it. If your MO is to have something tangible – laughably cheap and sloppy as it may look or sound – to tide you over until a hypothetical repress happens, and scratch whatever weird “physical medium” itch you have... that’s perfectly alright. I just need to know if anyone else is as lost as I am.

    Question about "PO" threads

  28. Welcome to the boards. I hope to be actively interested in vinyl at your age. Like MCDELTAT mentioned, this board lends itself to a lot of limited, newer releases and reissues. I'm not too sure where your tastes fall – outside of Pink Floyd – but you may have the most success by monitoring specific "catch-all" threads – classic rock, metal, jazz, etc. They seem to get updated with news of reissues a little more frequently. Most of this forum is fixated on new age trash, pressed on colorful wax limited to < 1,000 copies. As such, we are no stranger to playing the pre-order game. And especially with Covid delays, placing an order that's supposed to take 6 months - but having it take 7-9 instead - is kind of accepted as the new norm, unfortunately. Sometimes the advertised product doesn't even include all of the features or color of the vinyl that we were led to believe we were purchasing. It's a frustrating hobby to keep up with, at times. But not as frustrating as ignoring a release / pre-order in hopes of just "picking it up" later, only to find that all available copies are $80+ on the aftermarket. Anyways, it sounds like you won't really have to bother with most of that nonsense. Most of us are a slave to FOMO – Fear of Missing Out – which is why you'll see so much scrambling in a lot of the pre-order threads. We're all just trying to stay ahead of the curve, and score our favorite limited releases to avoid gouging our wallets down the road. The majority of users on the board are passionate about the releases they're ordering and discussing, but there are a handful of diddlers that lurk here and snatch up anything that's gaining buzz, in hopes of making a quick buck once it sells out. Don't be one of those guys. I'm sure you'll find something on VC that strikes your fancy, at some point. But until then you may have to wade through a lot of goofy pre-order threads. And if you ever develop a thirst for overpriced 7"s of Nickelodeon themes, or reissues of circa-2005 Hot Topic hits, we've got you covered.

  29. Sounds interesting. Unfortunately for most of the records released here they are very limited, sometimes only 300 or 500 copies, so the threads mostly serve as the community coming together to make sure we all know about new releases from bands we are likely into. That's about it. Then we either rejoice when it's a good album or hit ourselves when it's not good.

  30. If you don’t comment on a PO thread then you legally can not preorder that vinyl.

  36. Ren & Stimpy sounds great. Packaging is very basic in my opinion and overpriced at $30 but that's probably for licensing. It's just a 4 page insert and the record and jacket. Hey Arnold was gatefold with no insert, so about the same for what you're paying. But it's a great listen and the record came out clean.
