  3. My dude. That blurb was literally in this thread in the FIRST post 10 hours before you posted. Did you just not read the post and then ask "What is this?" Then hours later you "found" the description on facebook after you'd already supposedly read this thread and asked what it was? Take your ADHD meds man.

  4. You keep bringing this up as though most of the folks who ordered from them weren't like, "Fuck, these guys suck but there is no other way to get this for a remotely reasonable price." Everyone gets it, dude. You just come across as obsessive and annoying.

  6. I've been listening to a lot of Whirr lately, and I've got a few thoughts. 1. I miss the good old days 2. In hindsight, they are the reason all of indie music shifted towards shoegaze. Ride and Slowdive reunion albums and countless new bands would not have happened without Whirr making shoegaze the indie zeitgeist of the last decade. 3. They will never get credit for point 2 because they are 'Canceled' 4. Despite point 3 they sold out of everything they have released post G.L.O.S.S.GATE, and they have ~850,000 monthly listeners on spotify. 5. Point 4 should logically make no sense because of Point 3, but it kind of just makes me depressed as hell because it's proof that this band got railroaded by their labels and the music media over some straight up nonsense that got turned into a sociopolitical warzone and they were the only casualty. I hope they get the money and recognition they deserve at some point. Despite there being hundreds of new shoegaze bands, I never hear Whirr named as an influence but the sonic influence is in everything. Also, I wanted to rank the albums/EPs and see what everyone thinks 1.Pipe Dreams 2. Distressor 3.Feels like you 4.Nothing Split 5. Around 6. Sway

  12. the whole thing is super off in unpleasant kind of way. Like I feel song supposed sound like a "rough lo-fi/analogue tape demo" but it sounds clean, badly mixed/produced with some stock presets slapped on guitar in a hurry. Based on how he sings text feels like it supposed to be personal and sad. it. But its just stupid and awkward. Video feels like it supposed to be "old found tape" or something. But it looks irritatingly modern and out of place. Anthony looks happy and playfull in the video. But I can't shake the feeling that I watch a guy who will commit suicide in a few weeks. Overall very eerie video\song.

  15. AFAIK it’s only with Cove. I guess the better way to phrase this is: “I wish labels would stop making artists do this.” I believe they are doing this exactly why Taylor Swift, Senses Fail, etc have all done this. A label won’t give up the rights to the music so they’re hoping fans will just move on to this version on streaming services.

  25. The gold version is much better quality. Not sure why the number isn’t out of 500. Also glad they shipped the box sets with actual protection. The first box set I ordered was sent loose in a box that allowed over 1” of space for the record to bounce around. The corners were creased. This shipment arrived safe.

  27. If anybody is looking for Team Sleep, we don’t have an online store but my shop has 6 copies left. They have been opened and the inside jacket is signed by CrookOne. They’ve been placed in a poly bag and include the hype sticker. They are priced at retail. Message me if you’d like one.

  29. Well. My store didn’t even get their allotted copy of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. The owner told me that if they receive it in a later shipment, he’ll hold it for me. But he did have the Malfunkshun for me. So that’s cool & snagged that.

  33. thats cool and all but youre about 40 years too late on that. i havent listened to the track but i bet it sounds like most SG which makes half the people on here dizzy and the other half angry some of the best music of this century has been made with a keyboard and a hard drive (edit: not even that kind of keyboard)

  34. Get upset or not that shit is incredibly corny and I'll be personally judging people who allow rap/hip-hop/pop artist/producer roles to invade rock genres. Step one to forgetting how to play instruments as a society and that's not hyperbole.
    2 points
  35. I'm with you on this. Yeah...seems like homie is hung up on some semantic stuff here. Like, if she'd been fully forthright and credited the producer would they still be upset? And it sounds like the issue is only with her "best" track. Rappers constantly buy already made tracks and put their lyrics over them, is that also not "real" music? Tons of pop artists have someone else write for them and are popular/easy to listen to or other bands have only one songwriter in the group and the rest of the band just plays their songs. I just don't have the bandwidth to get upset over this kind of stuff.

  37. When I first started buying vinyl 15 or so years ago, I had also just discovered Thou. I hunted down all of their releases at that point and made the conscious decision to be a completionist with their discography (sans variants). Little did I know what I was in for, ha! Still following them all these years later. Great band. Not for everyone.

  39. I run our distribution company. The Jakob records are so good but took forever to sell. I’ll chat with Ryan about it. For awhile a decade ago, he was doing archival presses and it’s something I’d like to bring back. It was a great idea then and that hasn’t changed.
