  1. Came here because I thought there was a new Sleep album.

  2. Look what was also wrapped with the records! It's a sweet Honda patch. This thing is so cool. It ups my cool factor by at least 25%. Once I find a cool jacket, this is going straight on it and I'm going to ride a wheelie into the sunset. And that's everything! Thanks so much to my secret Santa. I had my suspicions when I saw the LA Kings card, and they were confirmed with the other clues about Living in California and loving Lucero and Rancid. Thanks Ian Rees! You're amazing! But wait! as I was moving the box off my desk, I thought I felt something else in there... What could be under this sheet of cardboard?... HOLY SHIT ITS AN ANIMAL STYLE DOUBLE DOUBLE AND A STRAWBERRY SHAKE FROM IN-N-OUT! This is the best Christmas ever! (maybe I skipped a couple pictures where I found the In-N-Out giftcard in the envelope and drove over there for lunch, but this seems way more magical!) Thanks again, Ian!

    MAN ADVICE v2.0

This is a very important statement right here; as I can relate to this destroying many of my past relationships. At this point in your relationship it's not selfish at all nor should you feel bad to put you first. As bruce stated, relationships require work and I can promise you that none are perfect and not all of them are 'bad'. You shouldn't have to constantly work or be stressed over it as there should be a break in the relationship where you or your partner give support or other means of showing some kinds of signs that you are willing to do that work and make it work....but don't fake it. That's like trying to give CPR to someone who has died years ago. I'm well aware that some people change after a relationship and some get very comfortable in a marriage to where they seem to have unwritten rules of either getting away with things or being less due to the fact that we're 'required' to love them unconditionally and never leave them. It's also important to have someone support most everything you do and the weaknesses and flaws that come with being a human being. Open communication is right up there with honesty and trust. It can't hurt to express your thoughts, but what does seem to suffer is the not understanding on the other persons side...and that will be the true sign that it's just not going to be. And that's okay. There are no rules but one thing I do know is that being happy in this world we live in is close to being happy with yourself. I dated my wife, my second marriage, her first, with a 10 year gap. A 23 year old is in a much different state than a 33 year old and she was so used to just getting a car and driving away during an argument than talking it out and that is something we worked on over the years. She was in many abusive relationships and that's all she knew to do. One of the hardest things is to hug someone and tell them you love them after a heated exchange but it has to be done. Holding onto things you want to say but never do will eventually take its toll and prematurely end perfectly savable relationships. I've also had that dream of just living in a studio apartment with my music and own life but I came to realize that I don't like being alone. However, I do not and will not just settle with this so I made an internal compromise and inner peace that allow me to have some space in a relationship where most days are the same and we are always 5 feet apart. Nobody can be around other people every second of every day so you have to establish that you would like some space. I revived old hobbies, I'm up late while she sleeps in order to get that me time even if its doing nothing. Right now you just need to determine what's important. You can still be your own priority but you need to think about whether she is truly going to have enough fuel to keep your spark going. I wish you the best of luck.

  4. The problem with rsdbf is alot of the titles are weak and overpriced. When you are a large store or any store and realize you are sitting on a ton of items with high costs and a no return distribution policy you want to get rid of it before hype dies down. Rsd needs to offer releases people want at reasonable cost items. As a store you want the exposure and don't want your customers going elsewhere but the time, energy and financial cost with what is being offered the last few years has to have stores rethinking their participation especially when the largest independent square footage store in the U.S in the 2nd largest U.S city puts stuff online 30 mins after they open

  5. I got my package today! I showed no restraint and opened it immediately. Here we have some delicious treats. I'd never tried brownie brittle, but I've never met a brittle I haven't liked, and this is no exception. I'm eating some as I type this. I'm excited to try the Thin Mints Crunch bar too, but I've had enough sweets for the day. Next was an envelope. It said not to open it until the presents were opened, so I'll set it aside... The first present! Could it be a 7"?! It is! It's a single from Band of Horses/Cee-Lo Green! They're covering each others' songs. I've been on a real big Gnarls Barkley kick lately, so this is really cool. I was also bombarded with stickers and download codes. Yay! On to the big present! Two Conversations by The Appleseed Cast and a Christmas record. I'm a fan of The Appleseed Cast, but for some reason I've never listened to this album. I have no idea why either, so thanks for this one! My secret Santa told me he thinks it's their best, so I'm excited to listen to it! It even came with all the goodies that come with ordering from Graveface (Pixy Stix!) I love the variant too!

  6. I told myself I wouldn't bump this thread until I had something to contribute. Apologies for the 2+ months it's taken me to dig this out, photograph it, and find the motivation to get the ball rolling again. But it's Black Friday... and in contrast to the buy, buy, buy mentality our nation seems so adamantly obsessed with, I figured I'd take a moment to give something away. As I mentioned above, I won't be able to keep up on this thread as much as I was able to do in the past. But I'm going to make an effort. I'm on the verge of giddily purchasing a big-boy record shelf – something in the realm of 4x4 compartments, or more – and I'm pretty determined to keep it 100% relevant to my current tastes. With that being said, I currently have a stack of records that I'd like to ship off to a good home instead of selling for dirt cheap. For those new to the thread: chime in if you're interested in picking up this record, and I'll put your name into the drawing. If you win it, you need to be prepared to offer up a record of your own. Please don't be shitty and volunteer an obscure jazz record that you bought for a nickel at a garage sale, because it was in terrible shape. This thread is a lot more fun if the participants do their best to keep the offerings desirable. Shipping rules will vary from conductor to conductor of the Karma Train. For me; you chip in $3.22 for Media Mail, and the record is yours. No strings attached. I'm willing to ship internationally, but shipping will cost more, and will of course be up to the winner to pay in full. Today I'm raffling off... ANCHORS BAD JUJU Truth be told, I'm not even sure how I ended up in possession of this record, but it's been on my shelf for years. Creator Destructor Records put out this melodic punk album a few years ago – I think it's basically right up the alley for a lot of folks on VC. The variant is a translucent red with black splatter, /125. Includes a black dust sleeve, and both a poster and unused download code. I honestly don't think I've even spun it once. I recall it being fairly cheap back in the day, which is why I'm not looking to sell it or make any kind of profit. I'll draw the name a week from today... assuming I don't procrastinate too much, when next Friday rolls around.

  12. Actually anything with an ad in it cannot be shipped media mail. So a magazine does not qualify as media mail whereas a book does.

  13. Even with 20% off their stuff is still overpriced.

  14. I had watch the world burn and age of ultron variant in my cart. No dice. It sure was exciting to hit refresh on my phone 200+ times though. Especially when the page loads half way, then takes forever to tell you it's still sold out.

  18. Waited on line at Tunes in Voorhees for about 20 minutes before they opened. They didn't have anything I was looking for and I witnessed the rest of the crowd attack the wall of RSD releases like vultures. My favorite part was watching employees nail this guy who brings his whole family to beat the "one copy per person" policy. I ordered Death By Stereo - Day Of The Death and Farside - The Monroe Doctrine from Deathwish. My wonderful friends got the Suicide File records for me at another store in Jersey. Thank you again! :o3) I took a trip to Sit & Spin in Philly and made out quite well non-RSD vinyl. Haddonfield Record Exchange has this bad boy in a sea of vintage wax from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Quite a successful run today. No complaints here.

  20. Seriously. I don't know if The Deal met everyone's expectations, but I think it's a hell of a debut and one that I revisit regularly. I'm super content with the sound they've established already... but any direction they go with the touch of Kurt is something to get even more excited about.

    Black Friday RSD - 2015

I really enjoy my set of 9" NIN singles. Anywhere between 2 and 4 tracks on each, not too many remixes (and most of the remixes are pretty decent), and some awesome b-sides.
