  1. It's just a little silly to get that upset over it. Is it mildly annoying? Sure. Something to freak out and throw a tantrum over? Nah.

  3. So.... Santa went well above and beyond anything I was expecting!!! I friggin LOVE everything I got! I'm gonna do this in spoilers that way I don't take up a whole page showing you guys what I got, because it is awesome and deserves some special treatment. Seriously I am beyond ecstatic about everything I got! SS nailed it for me with this package. Also, I must say the packing job was phenomenal. I'm definitely keeping it just in case I ever have to ship some bombers. Very well done! As far as who my SS is, there weren't any hints, and having the package ship from Colorado threw me off since most of the items in the package were from Cali, but I think I figured it out thanks to this post: So THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU Toki!!!! You did a fantastic job and I adore everything!!!

  4. How can there be new Appleseed when CC is having such bad writers block that he can't finish the old canes 7" series he ripped his fans off on?

    2016 \\ Hype Edition

With only a few weeks of December left, I figured it'd be cool to share and discuss some of the releases you're anticipating to drop next year. If you have a broad taste in music, you're aware that there's usually quite a bit to keep up with, and that new stuff can sometimes sprout up without much notice. I've found myself completely surprised by a casual mention that so-and-so are in the studio, set to release an album in the Fall, etc. Hopefully this thread can share some of that excitement and alert similar fans to releases they weren't otherwise privy to. Feel free to discuss what you'd like to see, but please avoid turning this thread into a 2016 wishlist. If you can limit your "official" submissions to artists who've either set a release date, are in the studio, are projected to release new material in the next year, or have otherwise teased 2016 material... that'd be great. Let's try to avoid adding Brand New to any hype lists on account of "being overdue" to drop an album. Here's what I've got so far, personally. • Appleseed Cast // Writing in studio. • Balam Acab: Child Death //Currently being mastered. • Bon Iver // Recently debuted new material, live – first since 2011. • Brambles // New album "close to completion" since April. • Daughter: Not To Disappear – January 15th • Deftones // Should have been released at the end of 2015, honestly. • Do Make Say Think // Most mixing and tracking completed since June. • DIIV: Is The Is Are – February 5th • Enemies // New single debuted in August. Really thought we'd get a new album before 2016. • Explosions In The Sky // Posted a trailer-teaser and claimed to be "coming out of hibernation" in November. • If These Trees Could Talk // Mixing, as of November. • Mamiffer: The World Unseen – March 16th • Minor Victories // "80% recorded", as of September, per Stuart Braithwaite. • Nothing: Tired Of Tomorrow – "Spring" • Russian Circles // Still in Kurt Ballou's studio, as of today. • Sumac // Recording as of November. • Swans // New album currently slated for April release. No title or release date confirmed. • Thrice // Posted a "NEW ALBUM – 2016" photo on November 23rd. • Wild Nothing: Life Of Pause – February 19th • The Wrens // Received mastered copy of album back in July. • Yndi Halda: Under Summer – March And you?

  11. Considering the guy used to donate money to Geoff Rickley's record label I think it's safe to say he has enough knowledge to not use a Crosley. Even if he doesn't know better, rich people buy expensive shit just because it's expensive so he probably has a pretty nice set up. That being said, dude is obviously always and forever a scumbag.

  12. So many people without tape decks buying this. If you ever want a format revived, just release a Brand New record on it. Quick, someone, Brand New live performance laser discs.

  14. Figured it'd be cool to post/share: they just recently got a Grammy nomination with "Identity" for "Best Metal Performance". Now I hate these award ceremonies ("rigged", picks usually suck, etc.) but to even get a mention like that, especially for the "style" these guys are referred to, is pretty impressive...

  17. Brian Fallon will be releasing his first solo album, Painkillers, through Island Records on March 11th. First single was posted today and in my opinion, it's far better than much of the last few Gaslight albums. Stream at the link below: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2015/12/10/listen-to-gaslight-anthem-singer-brian-fallons-solo-song-a-wonderful-life-exclusive/ Several options available for preorder at the link below: http://brianfallon.shop.musictoday.com/page/BrianFallon

  19. yesssssss!!! so glad you like everything! it's always so difficult to come up with stuff!! it was hilarious because you had said you were going to open the package on monday night, was watching MNF, and DJ fumbled on that bonehead punt return. i was like "oh nooooooo i got him a helmet signed by the dude that just lost them the damn game!!!!" and then he redeemed himself on that long TD hahahaha. i was really torn on who to go with, so i'm really glad he's your favorite. i carpool with an eagles fan and he was her recommendation. also really glad you like the hat! it's hard to tell peoples' style. i was gonna say, you can always exchange it at Lids for something team specific. i figured grey and black was neutral enough to go with anything and i liked that classic style the most. so glad you dig it to be honest, i blew my budget on those two things so the music was a bit last minute. plus you mentioned you didn't really want records! all of that was from my collection. you said you liked female fronted indie bands and so football etc fit the bill there. they're actually local (from houston) and i saw them open for IIOI and TWIABP. since you mentioned you'd been digging that style lately, i figured they'd be up your alley. i had an extra copy of that MTB album and thought you may dig it--wasn't sure if you'd heard them, but they're one of my favorites. the riddler record i found at hastings forever ago for like $2. figured that'd be a pretty good hint. the mix is actually the same mix i sent out last year. you may recognize some of it--about 50% of it is instrumental stuff. i saw you'd dabbled in some post-rock so hopefully you'll discover some more stuff you like in there. if you need me to, i can try to upload it somewhere. i love using record CD-R's--we made mixtapes for our wedding favors so we still have a bunch of them leftover. anyway glad you like everything. hope you have a happy december

  20. That's what I've heard from a few different people now. I'm sure it's going to be insane. I read a recent interview with one of the band members about the lights they are bringing with them, and even reading about those got me pumped.

  26. Maybe he should take offense. Ideally that would change his business ethics. People have tried to be polite about the situation and he handles it poorly and unprofessionally (not responding to emails, blocking people on social media, etc.). I've heard TONS of complaints by now. I've said it before, if you can't run a business efficiently and have this many complaints and have to switch your PayPal account three times due to disputes until you abandon the platform altogether that literally 99% of every other reputable small businesses use, maybe it's time to close the doors. But he just keeps putting new stuff up for order when people haven't received their old shit from over a year ago. It's business 101. Not every coolguy with good taste in music should be running a label.. Personally, I've not ordered stuff that I really wanted from Orm because of not receiving past orders. You'd think he would make an account here since he knows about it (like a good number of other labels that know about this forum) to maybe try to explain things, answer questions or at least try to save face. But he posted it on Facebook so that all his shills would hopefully come on here and stick up for him. Gtfo. I've tried to be optimistic about this in the past. I'm a patient person who's been ordering tapes from lots of different labels for years and I've never heard of anything like this.

  27. yeah i saw them about a month ago. i also think i might just be getting old, or i've gone to too many shows. while yes, the crowd is mostly teenage girls, the kids at these shows obviously have not gone to a whole lot of shows so they're pretty giddy. what bugs me is when you see that same girl try to crowd surf like 10 times and film it for her snapchat. now that's when i feel old and cranky haha

  36. This. I was thinking they should have put the album on sides 1-3, so there is more listening per side, and then add "From The Kettle Onto The Coil" as Side D as a vinyl-only bonus track.

  38. VC, Jacob, I will change my user name when I can. To those whom I offended, I am sorry. I had no right to be a dick to anyone, especially Kevin, whether it was out in the open or not. Rooks, Egg, any everyone else... I can be a big guy and apologize for being awful. Furthermore, I will step away from poking my nose in any business within Everything Else, especially ST. Sorry, Dustin
