  1. Bad Catholics/Lookers 7" at Fest they just posted on FB. Hope we can grab these soon. From the wording, it seems like it's one 7". They just took a pic of two 7"s with each side showing.

  4. It's less about God-tier tastes and more about moving on past the trash that angsty high-schoolers listen to. Really not that difficult to grasp. [edit] I should clarify that my comment pertained to Asking Alexandria and BMTH, in case there was any confusion there. While I couldn't get into I Am King or ever take a few parts of it seriously, I still have a copy of their debut that I don't plan on parting with anytime soon.

  5. Go to a record store. Check out 7" bin. Buy a record for $2. Weddings are expensive, why add Unnecessary costs?

  12. C'mon guys. It's spelled warehouse. It's a "house" for wares, not a house no one can find.

  13. My wife and I just got married 2 weeks ago today! Our first dance song was "This Years Love" by David Gray. It was the best.

  16. They were sold out of the unsigned print at the Double Door last weekend, and I quickly snagged a signed print (which sold out halfway through the show, too). Personally, I don't have an issue with what they were charging. I own a few dozen screenprints, and it's easily one of my favorites!

  17. This +1. I'm holding off on ordering Luke Cage in case they do this.

  18. We had friends purchase a Downwrite song for us from Matt Pryor that I considered getting pressed as a wedding favor for guests, but after looking at a drawer full of shot glasses, bottle openers, keychains, etc from other weddings, we decided to take that cost and donate to the local Animal Shelter since 90% of those items are never really looked at again. I may be reading this wrong as you're looking to have just 1 7" of it pressed for the first dance, if that is the case, look at the Downwrite route on getting a one of kind song and looking into a lathe cut, still something that seems more of a hassle.

  19. The Nina Simone box set is available on Amazon.ca for ~$77US, including shipping. Condition: New. Note that the reviews say the quality of the packaging isn't as great as it could be, but the point is really the music. http://i.imgur.com/vvrlu5T.png

  20. I need to watch that. Abandoned amusement parks are the best. Growing up my friend's dad lived in a little town that had an amusement park until the mid-80s. We used to sneak in to the ruins and explore, which was probably super dangerous but a lot of fun. It's crazy walking up a 100 foot rollercoaster hill, with a giant tree growing in the middle of it. They finally tore it down a few years ago. I remember this exact view.

  22. That is wonderful news, I'll let all the "have to have the most limited" kids grab the ugly variant and I'll hopefully be able to grab a solid color variant so jazzed that vagrant is finally doing repressings, better late to the game than never I suppose

  24. Got my black / easter yellow this morning... Will be giving it a spin a bit later today. Looks good, although the edit to the description on the Relapse site which states: *Appears Dark Yellow Inside of Easter Yellow* is definitely accurate. It's more of a light-black-grey-yellow-sludge colour, rather than dark black. Personally, I think it still looks fine, but it would have been even better had the black been more vibrant. Just my opinion though

  29. Let me know how your copy plays.... my /150 was very, very noisy when you put the needle down, before the music comes in. But once the music hits, it quieted down. I attributed this to some dust or something from packaging, where the record sticks out slightly above the top of the sleeve. But Elusive Sound has the most gnarly mailers.... wait til you get it. They designed their own single-LP shipping package that is like a fucking tank. It's crazy haha. This music is so good though!!! Lights and Gone and Rakev are my 3 favorites, not sure if I can pick one over the other. Maybe "Gone" would edge them out, but not by much. Excellent!!! Glad it arrived safe and sound! I know MrEwest and Omik's copies just arrived too. They sound just as good as they look

  30. where is all the banter coming from? "I Am King" is, in my opinion, one of the best HC records of the last few years and I always felt that that was pretty much consensus. Is it because they called out that other band for being shitty persons?

  32. Yeah, no sweat. It was a random idea I had, but if you'll be returning it, I wouldn't worry about it. The more I think about this post, the more I feel compelled to ask you why this album failed to meet your expectations. Not in dude, what's wrong with you? way (but really; what's wrong with you?) but in a genuine manner. It's fine that the album isn't your cup of tea, but I'd personally love to hear what doesn't do it for you, specifically. For me, this album is the cat's pajamas. It's the bee's knees; the kingpin's ball. It's fine that you don't agree with that or any of the following, but I personally love that Caspian showed us that they're anything but a one-trick pony. Waking Season suggested that, but D&D confirmed it. Aside from the most prominent use of vocals that we've heard from the band, they also veered away from the soaring, shiny, triumphant tremolo on earlier material. They've spent years showing us that they can capture the sound of hope with builds that are just as good as any under the post-rock umbrella; on Dust, though, I feel like they really flexed their songwriting muscles and showcased their ability to reach comparable heights but through other means. There's a sort of spacey somberness woven through the whole album – even in the interludes – and a lot of the moments that hit hard manage to do so in a fashion that is notably more grandiose and well-executed than the bulk of post-rock in recent years. I just recently revisited the album and I'm a little confused on why anyone wouldn't regard it as one of the strongest, most mature additions to their repertoire of incredible music. To each his own, of course, but I'd love to hear where you'd disagree.

  33. I'm at The Flatliners show right now, I can pick copies up. No idea if they're limiting the number you can buy. Message me. EDIT: Sorry to get your hopes up, sign at the merch table says it's sold out. They're playing another show this weekend so I'll see if they've got more at that one.

  34. Or, you could stop ordering records and then an hour later change your mind and cancel. They would be better off not having to deal with "customers" like yourself who can't commit to something they ordered less than an hour ago. The site is great. Create a feature that stops idiots like the one above from ordering so you can focus on more important things and you'll really have something great on your hands

  40. Don't care for this band whatsoever but LOL at them signing to Roadrunner and leaving Deathwish. That's like leaving your hot, perfect girlfriend for her ugly, uninterested older sister who's the joke in your town.
