  1. This is the first SS/T&N release to utilize the new vinyl guy. Going forward this will become the standard. I made a longer post about it in the Beloved Failure On thread, but the short of it is the poor mastering and general cheapness T&N has come to be know for should be getting phased out.

  2. With Teeth as been moved to the top on the NIN.com store followed by Broken which has been out of stock for months with Year 0 and the Slip a row or 2 down might be going down soon....tomorrow? God willing

  3. It’s wishful thinking but I’d love to see a deluxe version alongside a standard repress for those who just want a basic copy, no bells and whistles. Deluxe could maybe have some demos or unreleased material from the era, if it exists. Additional liner notes / thoughts on each track. Maybe bound together in some sort of hardcover edition — nothing as beefy as that [Untitled] deluxe, necessarily, but I’m game for whatever.

  4. If I had money to throw at this, I would probably pick it up for the old school feels, but realistically I haven't listened to this album in its entirety in years. It's still a good time, but I don't think I'd get my money's worth. Now, if they were to press Attack of the Wolf King...

  5. Would throw a dumb amount of money at a deluxe edition and then hibernate for one year while I wait for it to show up.

  6. Alright. I'm cutting this off. It's been very overwhelming for myself. Trying to manage 40+ packages is grueling. It seems the majority are showing up on the 25th... so , lemme take a break from this and when shit starts to arrive, let's open it back up. So. For everyone that had participated- FUCKING THANK YOU.

  8. I can't comment directly on the sound of this particular release, but I do have a bit of info going forward. Tooth and Nail (Solid State) has begun to turn their vinyl production over to a new individual. There are a few things that were already mostly done before the switch (this, the first Chariot, SF59 Gold) so I would expect them to be mostly like what they have been putting out. BUT, by the end of the year there will be a number of reissues that will be done via the new process. There is some stuff that people have been asking for for a while, as well as a couple titles I personally never thought would happen, being pressed for the first time. What does that mean? - Expect MUCH improved vinyl mastering. ( I have heard the test pressing for one of these releases and it was stunningly clear) -Less bare bones packaging, reimagined art, more unique detail on any particular release -Less plain solid colors, more inventiveness in the vinyl colorways -I would also expect a little better marketing. Most of their stuff has just been dropped haphazardly when it comes in. I think they will hype a few things a bit more. -A lot more involvement from the bands; Forewards, special input on artwork etc. -Pricing may vary more on the new stuff a little more than it has. T&N is NOT making much on vinyl as they have to license virtually every catalog title. When they sell stuff @$10 I would bet that is breaking even or maybe even below cost. Depending on the inventiveness of the packaging, I would expect a few titles to cost more than $20. The only difference this time is the price should be worth it.

  10. Hey gang! So let's just get to it. I recently learned of a friend who had her collection destroyed by an abusive ex, and I felt compelled to help. Being a part of this community has been great even with all the bickering, we are here for one thing, and I would like to help bring that passion back to a friend. I've already sent a mystery package that was met with happy tears, and would like you guys to dig through your collections and help me with this endeavor. ITS HOLIDAY TIME FOR FUCKS SAKE. So. This is what I know. She's into Converge/Knocked Loose/NFG/ALK3/80's goth/2000's pop punk/Type O/bouncing souls/etc... So after speaking with Juan, I was given permission to post this. I'm not looking for rare variants. If you have a double you can let go of, that's more than enough. The list of bands above are just guidelines. Thanks everyone. Let's do this and have some fun.

  12. Nice. I'm not too familiar with their material but I do love Mickey Young and Total Control. I've only listened to their S/T, should check out the other two in the next few weeks. I like the new track.

  13. Went with the non galaxy colored version of Hidden History, and galaxy red/black on Starspawn. Glad I didn't pick up the picture disc of Starspawn I saw at the local spot recently. Almost did.

  14. On a serious note... Etymotic earplugs from Amazon ($13) have been with me through every show/loud work environment scenario since I got them years ago. Got me through 3 Sunn O))) shows with ease. Highly recommend everyone invest in a pair. Forget the orange foam crap. These bring the noise down to a very tolerable level without blocking out much detail.

  16. I wonder why SS/T&N aren't consistent with pricing... even on their recent (non-licensed) releases the prices can vary. But yeah, hopefully this will lead to their other albums!

  17. This... although I disagree with your take on CFUTF

  18. I really like It's All Crazy... It's not a terrible album, it just lacked the aggression they included on other releases. Some of the songs are really well written. The Beetle King rules. Perhaps I'm the crazy one, but CFUTF is one of my least favorite mwY records. It's a bit of transition, musically, and I get why people love it, but it can't touch Brother, Sister which I adore. I have CFTUF, so I'd be down for some kind of deluxe version that had extra audio content.

  20. Just got mine in the mail yesterday. There was no tracking number but they did send an email to say it had shipped. I know they are going out in waves so maybe yours either just recently shipped or just hasn't gone out yet? I don't know about it getting marked complete, though, as I never checked the status on the website. Good luck

  27. I put in orders at both Amazon and Target in case of a cancelation, but both are still looking okay—I guess we'll see how the next two weeks go. That said, if both go through okay, I'd be happy to sell you one of mine.

  31. Usually the engineer doesn't get to strongarm the worldwide major record label to influence what the source mix is going to be for the cut. That's just not the power dynamic. I would love to believe that we don't live in a world where that would ever happen but it does happen. Here's to hoping its not the case with this title.

  32. Man, Astronomy is so good. When I Was Young is a god damn epic. Probably a top 5 nada surf song for me. So gorgeous and such a great build up.

  33. I like both! But if I had to choose my least favorites of the post-Let Go era, I'd choose those before You Know Who You Are (which I think was a needed return to a more dynamic and textured place after the straight-forward, workman-like Astronomy).

  37. And funily enough, the "Lower ring" variant which mocked up like a white inside orange actually turned out to be like yellow inside red and matches the art perfectly. So glad I didn't order that one..... :')

  38. The Coheed cruise touts a full immersive Coheed experience. Which means at least 2 fans are getting poisoned, and 1 is getting their brains bashed in with a hammer. Enjoy! Marvel, as the fan pissing contest takes place on the lower deck. Rejoice, the merch circle jerk is in the boiler room after dark. The mutiny after the elite fans decide the set list sucks should be live streamable via YouTube as well. Huzzah. Join them as the elitists bash all the other bands to cover up/project their various insecurities throughout the whole ship, every second of every day of the cruise! Cackle, as Captain Keywork attempts to sell you a membership to his "Coheed Club" of which, he's the only member.

I've got a copy of The Cure's Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me that I'd love to send out if you think your friend would like it. Just PM me the shipping details and I'll get it done. Such a cool thing to do for a friend!
