My dude. That blurb was literally in this thread in the FIRST post 10 hours before you posted. Did you just not read the post and then ask "What is this?" Then hours later you "found" the description on facebook after you'd already supposedly read this thread and asked what it was? Take your ADHD meds man.5 points -

PO Now: Whirr - Feels Like You (out on oct 31)
NapalmBrain and 4 others reacted to CatsNJazz for a topic
I've been listening to a lot of Whirr lately, and I've got a few thoughts. 1. I miss the good old days 2. In hindsight, they are the reason all of indie music shifted towards shoegaze. Ride and Slowdive reunion albums and countless new bands would not have happened without Whirr making shoegaze the indie zeitgeist of the last decade. 3. They will never get credit for point 2 because they are 'Canceled' 4. Despite point 3 they sold out of everything they have released post G.L.O.S.S.GATE, and they have ~850,000 monthly listeners on spotify. 5. Point 4 should logically make no sense because of Point 3, but it kind of just makes me depressed as hell because it's proof that this band got railroaded by their labels and the music media over some straight up nonsense that got turned into a sociopolitical warzone and they were the only casualty. I hope they get the money and recognition they deserve at some point. Despite there being hundreds of new shoegaze bands, I never hear Whirr named as an influence but the sonic influence is in everything. Also, I wanted to rank the albums/EPs and see what everyone thinks 1.Pipe Dreams 2. Distressor 3.Feels like you 4.Nothing Split 5. Around 6. Sway5 points -

the whole thing is super off in unpleasant kind of way. Like I feel song supposed sound like a "rough lo-fi/analogue tape demo" but it sounds clean, badly mixed/produced with some stock presets slapped on guitar in a hurry. Based on how he sings text feels like it supposed to be personal and sad. it. But its just stupid and awkward. Video feels like it supposed to be "old found tape" or something. But it looks irritatingly modern and out of place. Anthony looks happy and playfull in the video. But I can't shake the feeling that I watch a guy who will commit suicide in a few weeks. Overall very eerie video\song.3 points

AFAIK it’s only with Cove. I guess the better way to phrase this is: “I wish labels would stop making artists do this.” I believe they are doing this exactly why Taylor Swift, Senses Fail, etc have all done this. A label won’t give up the rights to the music so they’re hoping fans will just move on to this version on streaming services.3 points -

N8TRU and one other reacted to [Banned User] for a topic
They ended up scrapping this record and are supposedly going in a heavier direction now. What they had ready for 2024 was essentially Voyeurist 2.0 but more synth-heavy and experimental alongside the poppier elements. I had heard some demos and I'm happy they are going in a different direction. Likely an early 2025 release for this new album while they capitalize on this TOCS 20 year tour through the end of this year. We'll get a song or two by year end.2 points -

Sorry to nitpick but I have cancelled USPS labels before and gotten refunded. It's possible. Takes some time but it's easy. Also if they didn't ship it within 4 days and that's against their seller terms, they're also in the wrong. So 4 days as an example can actually be a problem and going against their own word without communication. I don't know their full back and forth. Just playing devil's advocate here. There are a lot of godawful buyers and sellers out there (just look at the ETID thread lol)2 points

I'm with you on this. Yeah...seems like homie is hung up on some semantic stuff here. Like, if she'd been fully forthright and credited the producer would they still be upset? And it sounds like the issue is only with her "best" track. Rappers constantly buy already made tracks and put their lyrics over them, is that also not "real" music? Tons of pop artists have someone else write for them and are popular/easy to listen to or other bands have only one songwriter in the group and the rest of the band just plays their songs. I just don't have the bandwidth to get upset over this kind of stuff.2 points -

When I first started buying vinyl 15 or so years ago, I had also just discovered Thou. Still following them all these years later. Great band. Not for everyone.2 points -
