I got a CD shaped envelope in the mail and almost sprinted for the house until I realized it was filled with Rick & Morty stickers. I set them on fire and doused the flame with my tears.5 points -
Just got my copy in. Comparing it to the original press for fun. Artwork/layout are almost completely identical, minus the legalese and logos. The jacket and sleeves on the original press are noticeably higher contrast/saturation than the new pressing, curious if that was intentional or just a printing difference. The sleeves on the OP also had one top shorter than the other for record removal, whereas the new sleeves have even tops. When it comes to the records themselves, the new 180g pressing is obviously thicker. Labels do not suffer the contrast discrepancy. As far as the sound, I've only had a chance to listen to the first disc, but wow. This is how this record was meant to sound. The range is there, the detail is there, it's quiet, the atrocious distortion is all but gone. I say "all but gone" because to my ears the latter half of The Scale did not sound up to par with the beginning of Pioneer, but it's still totally listenable. The rest of the experience so far has been stellar. The bass on Pioneer is thunderous. Heinrich Maneuver comes in sounding punchy as hell. Guitars sound accurate and drums tend to leap out at you. Playing this record for someone will get you laid.5 points

I'm blatantly biased towards this band as they've been one of my favorite bands since I can even remember. Loved the "Racists" song but this one, I don't know about. The effects on Justin's voice are weird and unnecessary. On another note, Went to Warped about a month ago and my girlfriend who is battling breast cancer got hooked up with the Living The Dream Foundation and we got all access passes and got to meet and hang out with Antiflag. Had the honor of watching them from the stage and it was incredible.3 points -
I'd be stoked for an opaque red A/B and opaque blue C/D. To match the cover art.3 points

Mattiktpq and 2 others reacted to Bladewillisisdead for a topic
To piggyback on what Derek said: No it was not. The /100 "friends and family" variants of Converge records are given out by the band/deathwish personally. Usually a few regular preorders get one thrown in as a "Willy Wonka golden ticket" kinda thing. I always fill myself with hope when I get my pre-order package but thus far I haven't won the lottery. This is why you shouldn't variant collect Converge. Its a long expensive road and the destination is heartbreak.3 points -

At some point someone asked for a comparison between the OG press of the Fragile vs the Repess. I played Somewhat Damaged from the Og press before putting on the new one. the sound pretty similar, I dont have a blow your dick off system so results may vary. Im nearing the end of the 1st side the reissue sounds cleaner, everything sounds more up front, a little louder. Overall I think it was just mixed more evenly. That's my 2 cents anyhow.3 points -

In honor of Caspian not playing... [Just got it done a few hours ago. It's still swollen so looks crooked, but it's not. Hard to get a shot of my right arm, but I'll get better photos later. I didn't know this beforehand, but the artist that did it has tattooed Jani before.; small world. The dude was really cool. We talked Godspeed, Envy, Mount Eerie, Converge, etc. I'm thinking this is gonna be a Caspian half sleeve. Who knows what the future holds. For now, I'm really stoked.]2 points

For those of you saying this album sucks... what the hell are you listening to? The album is great. It's like it was meant to be an in between Devil and God and Daisy record. It's not as noisy as Daisy but they still use feedback in a creative way. If you don't like it then you must not really like Brand News sound.2 points -

Unsolicited take on this: Your scenario is the fiction. Brand New breaks up in 2018. They sell out a 3 show run of "Final Shows Ever" at Madison Square Garden. Kids fly in from all over the world. The butthurt is felt across the galaxy when the band only plays songs off of Science Fiction. In 2028, they headline Space Coachella because theyve all run out of money and the most recent repress of Deja Entendu wasnt enough to send all their kids to college.2 points -
