  1. listen, I am going to say this once . we are pricing everything in the store at the lowest possible discogs pricing and anyone who knows me, knows that this isn't about making an extra ten bucks or something, off of some new hard to find LP. I have traveled to EU and Asia getting a lot of these records and have been (and still) busting my ass and putting myself in debt to make this a reality. if you don't like the idea, don't come. simple as that. I know a lot of people who'd like the chance to see and check out the condition of an LP before buying it. and I know a lot of people would like a shop that focuses on contemporary music and not a lot of dollar bins and stuff you can buy online. once again, if you dont have something nice to say. ..

  6. Same here. I think the way bandcamp handles their download is perfect. Lossless for those who want it, lossy for those who don't.

  7. I know it's a petty, stupid thing...but the album is called "Boxer" not "The Boxer."

  8. I picked up S/T for like $13 about a month ago thinking I could just buy a green copy if it didn't sell out too quickly, but $32 for a single LP, fuck that.

  9. Only took an hour for them to sell out of Louder Now. Gotta say refreshing their site every 10 minutes this morning paid off. I'm so hyped

  11. Why is it inherently bad that a store focus on rare stuff? Only "limited to one" stuff is the Little Elephant lathes they will cut forever anyway. I haven't seen prices yet, but they will at least have to be competitive? Don't sharpen your pitchforks yet, Christ.

  14. yeah when you come in, make sure you say hey. and while we're at it.. ill say this to everyone.. come into the shop. if you don't like it or there's an issue. just talk to me about it. if you think a price is unreasonable or if you think I am taking advantage of an artist, label or customer; talk to me about it. i'd gladly have a discussion about it. Limited to One is for the people!!! (and the hobby!)

  16. I rejected them myself. I found a really annoying double 'pop' that existed across all first round tests between two songs during a quiet part. Otherwise they were nearly perfect. I just couldn't let that annoying pop make it to production. It deserved better. :-)

I wish you all the success in the world and I look forward to stopping by (probably on the first Monday). I'll be sure to say hi!

  21. So let me get this straight: you have an issue with the idea of grabbing all of the wall records in NYC record shops and placing them under one roof at fair prices? Are you so naive to think that if I walk into a local store with my copy of Washed Out's Life of Leisure, their first record on purple, trade it in, that the store is going to sell it at like $15? They are going to look it up in Discogs and price it accordingly. Maybe you would buy it, maybe you wouldn't - but you wouldn't think twice about the store selling it. But now because a store is limiting its stock to just records like that one you take offense? Please, go out and be productive today.

In addition, all pre-orders will be entered into a random drawing to win one of 25 original doodles by Laura Ballance!

  29. Bandcamp all the way. Stream and dl in multiple formats. It has a social aspect too. I've linked up with people who have similar tastes and it points me in the direction of some other stuff I may dig. And I LOVE that some labels like Graveface and Run For Cover go this route with their codes. Pure perfection!

  36. I'm enough of a film nerd that I could probably just start saying shit like that and anyone who knows me would buy it. Again, not horror but sorta horror adjacent because of Ben Wheatly. I watched Free Fire last night. Definitely his most accessible film. A lot of fun even though it's basically Reservoir Dogs. Like, it's if the Mexican standoff scene was the whole movie.
