  1. I am still scratching my head. This album was avail for preorder for weeks. 2 days after its released he dies and all of the "diehard bowie " fans are upset they didn't get the " variant". If you are a diehard bowie fan, you don't care about the color and just want the music and probably had a copy before he died. This thread is about as good as that Baggs pro rock thread

  7. Down votes are trivial. It was just a comment and this place is for unbiased conversation so we don't down vote in here on account of not agreeing with someone. There's other parts of this board to do so. I'll play that fucker so loud you'll know when I'm spinning it haha

  9. No worries t3, it's a jammer Words are dangerous and a lot of times are hard to swallow Morning dude. How's my home state treating ya 1st post but already knew how to down vote someone...silly GOOD MORNING ALL, I'LL START WITH A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I have secured a copy of Hot Damn, that means the Ole ETID collection is complete again! 10. So? You can pretty much say that about any genre. How many bands actually push through boundaries and advance the genres they are accompanied with? Not many. But I like the "post-rock" sound. I don't like all bands, but the more there are, the better chance of me finding something that clicks. That was ultimately the point of this thread. Everyone post bands they have been checking out, and although we won't all like everything, hopefully something will click with someone. I don't disagree with your statement, but I also don't have a problem with that issue you bring up. I genuinely forget, have you suggested any bands we should all check out? I can't remember and don't feel like weeding through 93 pages of stuff. But since you say everything being suggested is pretty stale, who should we check out?

  11. Just to throw my 2 cents in.... I was out of town the day after this was released and just happened to stop at a B&N to find a clear version. Bought it, took the wrapping off and threw it out, cleaned it, & played it....I'm quite morbid already but this album was just nice to hear....then I got a call the next day asking if I read the news about Bowie and was just shocked. Have spun this album at least 6 times now and appreciate how such a talented person would leave us such a beautiful gift. I think phish was the first band to introduce me to Bowie and I ate it up like gold ... Such a talent over the decades and I wish I could have seen him live more than once .... Anyways, I am glad to have this and will continue to play the shit out of it ... LOUD!

  12. Iggy is made of gnarled gristle, sinew, and broken shards of glass. He will outlive us all. I do have dead musician fatigue at this point, so if musicians I admire could just stay alive, that would be great.

  13. I clicked the thread thinking he was referring to me. Turns out he actually was! Take a big chunk of your fusion/jazz/hard'n'heavy audiophile records

  14. An audiophile who shits on other people's tastes and listens to prog, fusion, and jazz? I bet you're just delightful to interact with. Definitely not an insufferable twat. No way you're basically just comic book guy from the simpsons

  17. So many people go straight to jb for records, and I have no idea why. My local store (clarity) undersells them every time. I have also picked up records last year by local artists for $20 - $25 multiple times.

  19. True, I'd be surprised if they won't sign both. They've gotten more airtime than a lot of the signed talent. Also, I don't want to be a pessimist but apart from looking forward to surprise entrants (as I always do), I'm sorta dreading the Rumble match. It hasn't delivered since 2010 and the last two editions were downright insulting.

  27. I missed most of the PTW talk cause I went to see my friends yesterday and funny enough they were both obsessing over the last time they saw Sleigh Bells, and were putting on youtube videos of the last local show. Derek sure went in a different musical direction

  32. Thanks again for your suggestion of contacting people off Discogs. I have just spun my copy bought from a seller in Norway and it sounds outstanding. Three years or more of hunting has been worth it. This is the version to own if this album is one of your desert island discs. I owe you a beer, shame you are in Canada. I will have to drink yours for you

  33. You're right, we all want every version of Kidz Bop pressed on vinyl and if we don't get them now we will riot.

  34. Oh man, fucking jazzdad over here is bringing the early morning chuckles in full. What the hell is "hard/heavy" as far as a genre is concerned? It's probably best for you to crawl back to your dated Hellride forums – whatever those are. Consider a shower while you're at it. It won't wash your shitty elitism down the drain, but it may help with the filthy prog beard you no doubt pride yourself in.

  40. A friend suggested Psycho Pass and we finished marathoning it today (the first series at least). It was definitely super good! Somehow he hasn't seen Ghost In The Shell at all so I got him started on SAC 1st Gig since Psycho Pass and GITS share somewhat similar vibes. I'll take any excuse to rewatch GITS haha

Saw Muse 4 times this year. Awesome everytime. Recently saw Toe & it was one of my favorite shows ever. In the next month+ I'm seeing City & Colour, Ha Ha Tonka, Caspian/65daysofstatic, & Metric. Pretty pumped.
