  1. Melted down and made into a bowl for my ashes. Hopefully gonna end up a HT-style splatter.

  2. Our floors bathrooms are closed for painting today...which subtracts two bowls for bowels and two urinals. I added up all the males in this building and it came down to around roughly 70. i now have to mentally prepare myself to be a 'pro' if you will, because chances are; there will be someone there. I must take advantage of having this spot and take care of business...very similar to throwing a no-hitter or kicking the winning field goal. I dubbed today "4 cans for 70 asses" it's disgusting. The scene can be described like a waiting room in a birth center. Lots of men nervously pacing and waiting.

  4. I told my wife to log in to my discogs, see what she can make some good money off of and take herself on a nice trip. She deserves it after putting up with all my record buying bullshit #thehobby

  5. I hope I'll stop caring about records way before that, get rid of them, and use those funds for something more meaningful.

  6. One thing I love about this site is seeing people talking crap about bands that other people on here like and then checking out the link to the shit-talker's collection to see what stuff they're into.

  10. Gonna be some lit pop punk and soundtrack collections showing up in thrift stores in a few decades. I honestly don't care what happens to my collection. I'm never having children so there's no one to pass them down to and my girlfriend doesn't give a shit. I told my girlfriend to either sell them or throw them away. Maybe put up a YouTube video of her smashing EITS - How Strange, Innocence if anyone still cares about it by then.

  11. Also this makes no fucking sense, he needs space for his girlfriend to move in so hes selling 6 records? How much room does selling 6 records open up? 6 inches? Is she a troll?

Finally got around to watching Holidays. I'd say Father's Day + Christmas were my favorites. I thought Kevin Smith's Halloween short was a let down.

  21. I'm with you on this. However, it's a pretty likely scenario that if I die at an old age, then either A. I'll be too old to be able to do the physically intensive aspects of listening to records (reading the spines, setting the needle down gently, packing and hauling them while moving) or B. the huge size and impracticality of my collection will lead my future children or caretakers to convince me to ditch this enormous, heavy thing. I'm fine with that. To those who think your interest in having a record collection will taper off eventually, I'd recommend selling them now. You'll get more money and you can invest it in something that will have more lasting value to you. I'm a stubborn idiot who takes comfort in the familiar with and hates change, so I'm all in on dying with a stupid record collection.

  22. I hope I don't stop caring about records because that will mean I probably stopped caring about music, which would make life less meaningful. Anyway, no heirs for us, so I'll probably leave the wife instructions on how to sell off the ones she doesn't want to keep or the rest can be buried with me for all I care.

  23. What is the biggest drama of a record collector? When his wife is selling the records for the price he told her he paid for them. If my wife will sell my test presses for few dollars I will die in hell.

  24. I suppose that makes sense if they are guilty of murder by obsessive vinyl collecting. In that case, any of them that you purchased from a flipper on eBay or Discogs should probably get the chair.

  48. Saw them play with Mamiffer on sunday. What a wonderful and crushing experience. Sumac played a 70min set comprising songs from albums. I was hoping to get some insight on what the hell is going on on these albums, but I guess I'm more bedazzled than I was beforehand. Either way, excellent show. Mamiffer topped it all for me, though. So delicate and wondrous, they played almost all of The World Unseen with a very pregnant Faith Coloccia stealing all the bearded men's show. I could have gone all out on the merch table (Mamiffer had brought eight different LPs!), but went with World Unseen and a shirt. Go see them if you get the chance.
