  1. Haha. Fuck right off, dude. One online publication doesn’t get to corner an opinion on music. “Welp Pitchfork loves the record so I guess I gotta’ hate on it otherwise I’m a drone.” Do people really think like this? You are aware that people are allowed to form and adhere to their own perceptions of an album, right? AF is weak af because James’ vocals melodies and delivery are forgettable, lyrics are grossly basic and teeter on cringe, and the entire thing flows in one ear and out the other barring 3 or so highlights. This conclusion was arrived at well before Pitchfork posted any kind of review, as made apparent by the time stamps in this text chat with a friend; I know it’s a big and scary world out there with adults forming their own opinions and interpretations of music, but you should give it a shot sometime. No one single website or source should dictate how you feel about music and you’re a child if you feel otherwise.

  2. lmfao. was gonna post my timestamped texts with Derek as "proof" that our feelings were pre-Pitchfork's review. Glad to see you were on the same page, Derek. I love the assumption that if you dislike it - you must be a p4k slave, but if you LIKE it, it's got nothing to do with the glowing reviews you read on any other site

  3. Figured this is now deserving of it’s own thread. For those who who didn’t catch their debut last night its Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst’s new band. https://www.amoeba.com/better-oblivion-community-center-translucent-orange-vinyl-lp-better-oblivion-community-center/albums/4110323/ https://roughtrade.com/us/music/better-oblivion-community-center-better-oblivion-community-center https://www.secretlystore.com/better-oblivion-community-center

  9. I love how much Sam Ray does not give a fuck about what anyone thinks... Releasing a noise album after putting out a pop/emo record people really responded to last year is a pretty ballsy move... Probably going to buy this at some point...even if I don't listen to it a ton...

  10. They also have official Merch in the RoadRunner store so there’s no doubt we are getting proper represses.

  12. I never get confirmation emails from them anymore. I feel like I used to? Might be remembering wrong though. But if you go to your account page on Bullmoose, it should say next to your order if it’s been “received” or not.

  14. That is the best Teen Suicide/American Pleasure Club song I've heard. If the whole record is similar, I might actually buy something from this guy, that isn't Rick Eat Acid.

  15. The single is so fucking good. Def grabbing an indie ‘pear’ cover. I have the apple. What’s next? I’ve personally tried a tiny watermelon with success and believe it or not, a cucumber

  16. My copies arrived today. As @morfiend posted, all great around. Immensely happy that Sub Pop did the deluxe treatment on these crucial releases.

  17. So, the day I got back from LA after travelling to the Chris Cornell tribute show these arrived at my door step. The Melvins played “Leech” at the show, which reminded me these were gonna be out soon and made me even more excited to give them a listen. I don’t have the original pressings of Rehab Doll or Dry As A Bone but much like Jack Endino’s other remixes from the likes of TAD, Soundgarden and U-Men, they sound great. You can tell a lot of love were put into these with the awesome linear notes, photos of the band etc. I’m digging the bonus tracks too, especially the ones included with Dry As A Bone. Sub Pop did an excellent job with these.

  23. I have gotten so many "this one is so great" and "Much better than Colour" comments from my friends (we rarely look at P4K reviews), but besides the closing track, I was so underwhelmed, singing was so flat. I absolutely love 'Colour' and the S/T. Overgrown needs a revisit. Maybe I'll reach the same conclusion.

    PO: AFI - Burials

I ordered the white variant from the AFI web store when it first went up and it was supposed to be a Burials tour exclusive as well. When AFI came to town on this tour I brought my Burials jacket from the black variant just in case I could get it signed. When I got to the show they didn't have the white variant for sale because the box shipped to them late to a previous venue. Anyway the point of my ramble is: after the show Hunter and Adam came out to talk to fans and I got the Burials jacket signed and there was this girl who had the white variant and she got the actual LP disc signed in black sharpie. That made me cringe haha.

    The Weezer Thread

All they had to do was not choose the most goofball ‘LOLing at pop culture memes in the toy/book section of Urban Outfitters’ tracklist and this could have been fun. I’d pay decent $$$ to hear Weezer cover tracks from this equally random but less ironic list I just made up: R.E.M., Built to Spill, Alex G, Tegan and Sara, Ratboys, Tom Petty, Mitski, Talking Heads, Beastie Boys, XTC, Fiona Apple, etc etc.

I hope the Teal album counts as a proper terrible full length and gets us one record closer to the next good Weezer album.
