Very future heads up, apparently we are getting a repress of the "Translating the Name" EP on vinyl. "Waxywonderss" on Instagram tagged a bunch of the band members asking "Please tell me why this insane EP is not pressed on an awesome colored vinyl yet?" and Beau responded in his DMs (which he screenshotted) "because we are finishing up the variant designs". EDIT: Added screenshot of the screenshoot lol.

The pinned VC General Guidelines thread states "Your favorite band/artist announced a new album? Great! Don't start a "PO SOON" thread unless there's any solid & legit info on a vinyl release. Get hyped about the release on the EE board. Don't clutter the main board yet." It's not being lazy, there is just zero evidence beyond some screenshots, the pre-order likely won't show up for 3+ months, and then someone will start a duplicate thread because the original will be buried by then. Trust me, I've done it before.

I think posting in the busiest/biggest/most recent thread related to that same artist is the most logical place to post rumors/exciting news about said band/album that aren't strictly a new PO. 5 years ago I bet someone would have said "post rumor/discussion/hype threads in General Discussion" but it's 2020 and GD goes weeks at a time without a single new post, so why not just keep it in the music forum.

Posting a release from 2003 in an untitled 2016 Saosin LP3 thread that's been buried for years since 2016 is more logical than creating a new thread for a completely separate release? That's only clutter if we have limited threads. Just like all the 7"s and flexis that get put in the Billie Eilish thread that never get their own "clutter". Or the Brother Sister box set that many missed because we didn't want to clutter up the board so we buried it in mwYs last albums posts.

Just got an email from Ben. Preorders for the 4xLP boxset and new record Solitude go up next Friday! Box set priced tentatively at $75 while Solitude is $28. Curious what the new cover art looks like and how the variants will compliment it.

My copy of the Nier box set also arrived a bit scruffy but thankfully it was just the plastic sleeve. Though I agree that they need to ensure better packaging for the prices they’re charging for those boxsets.

Unrelated to the vinyl edition...I ordered all 8 CD's...stupid, I know...but it's funny how weird UMG are with their shipping. I received #1 already. Received the rest except #3 yesterday. And now #3 is out for delivery today. I hope that doesn't happen with the vinyl editions. Although...it'd be better as less of a chance of damage to them if all 8 were to be shipped together.

Billy has already said that was put out by the label, not him. Maybe the label doesn't like money.

I was able to run out at lunch at grab a signed CD as they popped up at Newbury Comics locations all through Boston today. Really really pumped I got one after missing out last week.

Seems incredibly dumb to me so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm totally wrong – you, as a paying customer, want to give them more money for an additional product. Why should you have to be timed out or wait weeks to make that happen? The truth is that I can't recall ever wanting 2 ROTMs for the same month, but I have seen plenty of people make comments that'd imply they have to decide or only pick one. (Maybe they were misinformed, themselves?) Either way, just 1 more questionable business practice on VMP's part, if it truly works the way I'm claiming it does.
