Some AK3 news that may be of interest: I saw them with Bad Religion the other day in Philly and got to talk to Derek and Dan out behind the venue for a little bit. Derek told me a Good Mourning vinyl reissue is in the works for the 20th anniversary next year. He said they were thinking of doing it as a double 10" or maybe even an expanded version with the demos and stuff. Said he wanted it to be a deluxe thing. I asked him to lobby for the inclusion of that leaked "Angel Alcohol" / "Everywhere I Wanna Go" demo, and he said he'd try. He also told me the actual title of that song was "So Good To Be Here". Just some info I thought people here may appreciate.

2300 units is a hell of a pressing for a 17 year old album of a band that is not that big nowadays.

interesting, I got a shipping notification on 10/29 and the USPS tracking status is still "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item" ETA: Asked about it and they're shipping out today, sounds like they only got a very small amount initially and have been waiting for the rest of their allocation to finally show up, which they did yesterday. If you're looking for a shipping notice, mine showed up with the subject "Todd Robinson has sent you a package" and made no mention of Luna at all, I had to piece together what it was for.

All the pre-Gore albums have been fluctuating in and out of print this year. Went into my local and they had multiple copies of Diamond Eyes, S/t, White Pony. I bet they’re just pressing a couple thousand of each title at a time and will continue to until demand is no longer there. Plus with the way the market is right now they probably can’t just keep them in print as easily.

it's just a bummer because if you go to the Essex Roaster site and order directly from them, its $6 to ship. I hope some extra end up on their site one day

There is a good chance, they've said before that they're not interested in keeping anything they've put out 'rare'. But that a big thing for them right now is the vinyl cost/delays. So I would bet it will be repressed someday, but not any time soon.

Limited coffee from bands always bums me out...I want them but they're already priced like they know it's super cool/limited, and then shipping costs are bananas. So I never get the super cool band coffees. Please feel bad for me.

Had a fairly ho-hum spate of viewing here recently. Watched that Korean flick The Clsoet that recently popped up on Shudder - it's a pretty average k-horror movie. Not bad but not really recommended either. Watched a few Koji Shiraishi movies due to how amazing Noroi is, but found them all underwhelming - A Slit-Mouthed Woman and Shirome are both pretty skippable, and Occult is fine but falls apart in the final third. Also watched a tawdry/trashy late-80's Giallo called Too Beautiful to Die which was basically as good as expected (not very, but it was entertaining enough).

Y'know. I looked back at the albums I bought that were actually reased this year...and it still isn't my #1, but it probably lands in the top 10 which I didn't expect. Looks like most of my "new" 2021 purchases were either reissues, or stuff I haven't gotten yet. I typically don't listen to an album until I get it on vinyl, so that helps this one out a bit in my ratings.

As excited as I am to finally hear this on wax... there are a few simple slam-dunk variants they could have done, and neither of these are quite it.

Wow I am so glad I checked the boards today. I've been waiting for this forever. I went to that tour too, I remember listening to Gym Class Heroes myspace trying to figure out how they got on that ticket.

exactly. White Lighters is a chillish song but fucking rules and gives the record the space it needed. They've always had strong dynamics on everything they've put out which is why I appreciate them so much.
