  1. You know that "second-hand embarrassment" feeling? I get that every time this label posts about something now. And then I feel first hand embarrassment when I remember I was the one who started the "designated" thread for this label in the first place.

  2. Don't give a fuck what variant I get. Whatever I can easily buy online that sounds good. Just happy to be able to spin it.

  6. New album is dope. As someone pointed, he went into a different direction without losing his mojo. I'm glad the jazz/funk approach from TPaB didn't become a KL obligatory trademark, as one could have assumed. I've been listening to a lot of hip-hop and black music albums since TPaB, it's probably the genre which I most have listened to in the past two years. Listened to hundreds of different albums and artists and DAMN. is music and production-wise a standout album.

  14. I believe i was the one that bought yours. Then sold it six months later and now regret it all the damn time as well. That particular copy has caused some heartache!

  15. Pretty much how I feel about it. SSTB was the first LP I ever bought, so I'll be stoked to have the first three finally.

  17. My WZ 7" arrived yesterday. What an odd package to open though. I opened it up and there was a Dinosaur JR booklet in there, along with a Miami Dolphins football card! Haha wtf? It's the red variant, and looks great. Another nice product from Numero Group.

  20. A big chunk of my collection seems to be from Pirates Press - very hit and miss on quality - but i avoid the Haze pressings like the plague (massive sand/grit on most of the copies) if I plan to listen vs. collect. Sometimes there is minimal grit however. Sometimes grit from a previous pressing will spill onto nonHaze variants in that run - or even onto an entirely different album.

  21. I think it's the fact that a lot of long time fans don't like his new approach to songwriting. It is completely different than RHP and early SKM. It's pretty evident just reading most of the discussion in this thread the last couple years.

  22. Your cart was either mixed (containing goods from both US and International Shops) or you encountered a glitch. No Canadians had issue yesterday which I can confirm 100%. Again, if you wish to save bread on shipping, purchase from the International Shop. Canadians are in an awkward position as far as imports and customs procedures go, and it has nothing to do with Ghostly nor can we control it. Trust me, it bums me out too. Accessibility is something we pride ourselves on. You pay what we pay for shipping. Sometimes less. If we were a larger company, perhaps this could be mitigated by taking losses elsewhere, but that's not the case. Please understand Ghostly has no sway or control over USPS, UPS, Royal Mail, DPDUK, or Canadian customs regulation.

  28. Yea... a band with as many nerd followers as they have... what's the point in even doing a tour exclusive anything when you are only letting 12 people a night buy it? Seems like a silly idea.

  29. I think all 3 are worth getting although Hello Nasty has some pretty bad sibilance. I haven't noticed any issues with any of the other records yet. I fell victim to thinking these were limited and no longer available so I ordered a sealed copy of Check Your Head from eBay. It ended up being one of the copies that included a 7 inch from the Beasties personal collection but also came with a second copy of the third record in place of the fourth record. I later on came across the King's Road site and ordered all 3 hoping to repeat the luck I had with CYH and get another 7 inch. I didn't get another 7 inch but all of the records were correct. Considering their cost, I say it's worth getting all 3. For what it's worth, they all came with the "limited to 1500 copies" sticker on them.

  31. Bummer....I thought they'd do a color run or something special for the anniversary and all. This was a very important album for me years ago....slightly let down, but happy the album will get a proper vinyl release finally.

  35. So Bullmoose says the label for their listing is SRC. SRC representative says the Bullmoose listing is for a "different pressing than [SRC's pressing]" and that could mean that they used the phrase "pressing" meaning the word "variant" but both Bullmoose and SRC are describing the same exact variant. SRC just being SRC, I guess.

  36. Attempt #1: Enjoy The Ride Records got approved to press Catalyst, reached out to New Found Glory and Chad (on twitter of all places) not so respectfully declined, stating that labels like Enjoy The Ride were exploiting bands by pressing classic records by other bands and cashing in. Attempt #2: At a Chain Reaction show back in 2011, Chad said that Catalyst was going to be pressed by 6131 records, but that day never came. When addressed, they said licensing costs for a label like 6131 would be unfeasible. During a Billboard Facebook live-stream, I recently asked if Coming Home / Catalyst would see the light of day anytime soon. They said both are in the works, but it's challenging going through major labels.

  38. Meh. That's not the same font. And there are plenty of typefaces of that style, Deafheaven doesn't own it. So I guess the real crime is stacking the letters like she did. Probably because she thought she could sway some blackgaze fans to her sweet, mellow, singer-songwriter vibes.

  40. To be honest I don't think there's been an album these guys have put out that has missed the mark for me. They've all got their own personal charms and strengths and even when they don't immediately click with me a few returns is all it ever takes. Revisited ...Like Clockwork and Era Vulgaris a few days ago and whilst they may not have started off as favourites these days I'd find it hard to put any of QOTSA's albums in a ranked list.

  41. Please get your facts straight, only 3% of the releases in this series will be abortions; the remaining 97% percent will be comprised of free screenings, regular check-ups, community health initiatives, and other essential services.
