I think was on a day where there was like 3 pre-orders and I was in the middle of a crap ton of meetings. Basically if it doesn't make it to my spreadsheet immediately, I forget. Yep yep. It's quite fun actually. It's very robust. It gets dropped when an order is confirmed, has a column for the date they think it's going to show up, additional column for the true delayed dates and reasons, the original price I payed and tracking numbers. Rather than just getting deleted, I have a Python script set up that automatically rotates things that have been delivered to the other pages. It allows me to give out legendary awards such as "Longest Pre-Order Time" and "Most delays"

All I will say...with everything I have going on at home: crippling (although functional somehow) depression, anxiety, family members with illnesses (mom w/ arthritis and something likely neurological, dad w/ cancer, brother w/ mental illness w/ possible addiction)...I listened to the album today and it fuckin' crushed me. Especially the title track. It all got to me. So I am crying now.

Hmm wonder if this will sound a lot better? If so may need to unload my RSD copy - I’ve come to a point in my collecting that I want the best sounding versus “rarest” “first” pressings... so excited if it will indeed sound a lot better

The other day I received notification that I had ordered a Superdrag album in October that I definitely ordered while drunk and forgot. Makes me wonder how much random shit will show up on my front door that I don't ever remember buying.

We all need ska. I had a 10 minute ska mash-up at my wedding and it was definitely the best part of the reception. They didn't disappoint with this one.

Ya know...I was thinking about this as well. I love the Bosstones. Always have. This record feels as the perfect time and place and what's needed now given the past bleak-ass year. Ska is more upbeat and fun and just what we need right now. At least I'd like to think so.

Yeah, in that budget range you're probably making the right decision. I'd keep in mind the Klipsch powered speakers as well. I own a pair of the R-41PM and sound brilliant. Rega is an excellent preamp.

My two cents...first two pieces are great, I'm just not sure about the speakers. Great company, but curious why you're going with powered speakers. Lack of space? Budget? I've gone that route before because of space issues, but in the end I gave it up. The sound wasn't as full as I wanted. It was good but not great. To build speakers like that, they have to stuff a ton of components inside that tiny cabinet. In my opinion, you lose some fidelity in the process. The other thing is, if you want to upgrade and find a separate amplifier you like down the road, you will have to get rid of those speakers. But I don't know what your set up is...if this is like a second system for an office in a small room, your choices will work perfectly. If this is your main system in a living room, it will sound good. I just think over time you'll find it lacks some depth and you lose future upgrade options.

Today's pull - $18 - pretty damn pleased. Miles Davis - "Sketches of Spain" six-eye first press mono - cover is beat (G), vinyl has marks but plays clean a very good VG. Herbie Hancock "Secrets" - The tail end of my favorite of his funk-jazz albums Cannonball Adderley Sextet - Live at the SF Jazz Workshop - first stereo press VG+/VG+. It's a great record, love the spots where he's introducing songs. Miles Davis "Ghetto..." - Not as exciting as the other pickups. Guess this was the RSD release. Nice copy. No complaints for a few bucks.

Damn it. I bit the bullet and bought that damn thing. My mono Columbia 6-eye sounds great, so I don't really know why I got this. Pure FOMO. I'd hate to find out that this new pressing even blows the original out of the water. I've never experienced or heard of that happening with old jazz pressings, but who knows.
