Not really relevant, but I stumbled across a filming set for Defenders when I was visiting NY back in February. Even managed to get a pic with Cox and Ritter afterwards, and I got some footage as well. First time ever that I saw something like this in person, so it was a pretty cool experience.

oh no doubt some will have difficulty. And those w/o a store may find it even harder. I'm just saying the hand wringing at this point is silly. People need to wait until all 7000 copies are out there in the world before fretting.

I hope you're right and that this is readily available for everyone on release day. There would be plenty to go around, and several members would hopefully exile themselves in embarrassment for devoting 90% of their post count to stressing over canceled orders and the reliability of various webstores. Basically, everyone would win.

Personally, I'm a big fan of music that sounds good when it goes in my ears. I know that's a bit of a hot take nowadays, but goddammit, when a song sounds good I can't help but enjoy it. These songs sound really good to me, so call me old fashioned, but I'm a fan.

I listened to it earlier, and I agree with you Jon. The mixing is also not great on it, the vocals are way too loud in it compared to the instruments.

There was this distro guy from XL in the store I work at today and asked how many copies we wanted of the blue variant. With this thread in the back of my head I was like "Huh? There's any left after direct preorder?" and he was acting like there's a gazillion copies out there to be distributed to indie stores all around the globe. For what it's worth, there might be some serious false scarcity going on right now. I might be wrong, though.

I don't know why that quote is up there. I finally bought a copy of Future Echo by Slomatics They put some more splatter in their store.

songs are fine to listen to, not disagreeing. also not saying there is anything wrong with liking music for the sound alone. but just because someone has "punk roots" does not mean they have ever been political, lyrically. i was making a comparison between artists who have always been political, and those who have never been but suddenly found the courage in 2017 (its not courage at all). Others might disagree, but I would argue 2017 has seen the biggest wave of artists-gone-political than the start of any year in recent memory. There is something to be said for that, and its not just the recursive "#dumptrump". joining a million voices already saying the same thing is not political courage, and its definitely not punk rock. end rant, sorry i just completely lose some of my formerly favorite artists when they start writing this stuff i dont care about.

TDTH hasn't held up well at all. To me that was the start of the decline. Secret Samadhi is still fantastic and by far their best work.

I have 180g vinyl that sounds bad and I have flexi discs that sound great. I also have some 180g that have a bowl to them, but my turntable has a built in clamp, so I'm not overly concerned with that. Michael Fremer once wondered if whatever sonic differences that might be attributed to slight change in VTA, and I think that's right.
