Yep, I remember the comic book insanity. They kept pushing out inferior product with many variants riding on the fear of "missing out" by collectors. Resale prices inflated. One day people realized that that pointless variant of an obscure soundtrack Lady Death comic wasn't worth much of anything. I see happy days ahead for collectors' record portfolios.

Bubbles and collapses can absolutely happen within niches and subcultures without the larger culture ever noticing. I'm sure most people aren't aware of the comic book crash of the mid-90s, and yet it had an inescapable effect on comics.

Sorry for being a post-whore but I just confirmed a trip on a very doomed boat along the coast of Sweden with Electric fucking Wizard headlining. Was set on not going but was lucky to find some last minute tickets from dudes who'd bought early and it will be a two day marathon with the free afterparty including Spelljammer. I'm losing it. Also, if for any of you die-hard Monolord fans, they'll be selling a sick print there that I might grab if any of you are super keen on it.

As long as people are continuing to purchase vinyl for the purpose of listening rather than the purpose of collecting, I believe there'll be no bubble to burst. But if folks are only buying them as an investment, there will be a bubble to burst.

The thing about Gotcha is that he's had at least 2 or more prior accounts on VC. They're easy to pick out because he dive-bombs random threads with a degree of animosity that leaves everyone scratching their heads. If a user with < 100 posts begins to ridicule members – seemingly out of nowhere – and lashes out at them with unprecedented angst... you can bet it's the same guy being a twerp. The part that's puzzling is that it's gone on for years. I wholeheartedly believe that he has a social disorder and should seek professional help. No snark; life is too short to harbor that amount of bitterness. You can say that you enjoy a good shitpost or that you pride yourself in being a troll, whatever. And you may even get off on people struggling with real-world shit who voice their hardships in otherwise stable communities. But when you take the time to publicly relish in everyone's misery and pick fights online, you can't sincerely tell me that you're anything less than someone aspiring to be a try-hard mouth-breathing keyboard brawler. Fuck off and get help.

Iron Fist did not have enough story to sustain 13 episodes. Could've been condensed down to half of that.

I got Abbey Road already (despite already owning a copy) yesterday. Seems to be the exact same as the 2009 remastered copy I have! Sounds great and very impressed with the artwork and disc, etc. I too thought it'd be a cheaply pressed copy, but seems legit. Btw, £9.99 is the introductory offer price. Future single albums will be £17.99 - which I still think is a pretty good deal considering they're at least £20 in HMV or Fopp or wherever - and £25 for double and triple albums is an absolute steal! Can't wait to collect them all. I feel about 8 again when I collected all the editions of that dinosaur magazine to make a glow-in-the-dark Tyrannosaurus Rex!
