  2. Yes, I bought this edition because it was limited to 500. I also have the Teargarden 7" singles limited to 250. Does that mean I bought them to flip? No; I bought them to collect. Some people are fans of the band and actually collect records. My avatar is Billys Big Muff pedal with the Siamese Dream settings. Regardless, bait and switch is still not right and for that I'm upset

  3. Fuck off....I mean who cares why some one bought a record. Does not make it ok to change what is being sold.

  4. So let's see...you guys bought it because you wanted gold right? Noooo..it was because you thought you were sitting on a gold mine by getting one of 500? Not saying what they did was right, but do you guys actually listen to the music or just put the records away because you think you're gonna make money off them one of these days?

  6. Had been holding off on this, went ahead and picked up a 2008 Capitol Vaults copy for $17 on discogs instead. If you're in this for the music itself and not "OMG the colorzzzz" I'd suggest voting with your wallet, otherwise people will keep putting out subpar releases/mixes like this.

  7. Super stoked as this is one of my favourite releases by one of my favourite bands! New artwork, gatefold sleeve, clear vinyl option and 11 (!) bonus tracks! European version on City Slang US version on Touch&Go/Quarterstick

  14. Or people bought the gold because its rare AND they collect SP, but given SP output for the past 18 years they weren't gonna take a chance and decided they get something they could dump later (again, which is reasonable with post 2k SP output), they could risk the promise of this album but know that they could sell ater if its sucks. But at the end of the day, maybe people have $30 to spend on a SP album and they have the opportunity to buy one of the rarest pressings so they do. Or maybe people bought something at face and are disappointed that the seller was less than forthright and its as simple as that and any deep dive reasons are pointless because the seller didn't have 100% accurate info when they listed.

  15. House of Balloons was definitely tops, but everything from the trilogy eps is miles ahead of everything else. Even with that said though, this album is pretty solid, and certainly better than I remembered. It just doesn't compare to the earlier stuff.

  16. Wow. Bundle is sold out already. I managed to snag one.

  17. Yeah saw that, wow, quick. Wonder if all single lps will sell out before the hour is up?

  18. Yeah, but my joke is that it still might not happen. The stars are unhappy (Bautista has been publicly burning bridges with Disney), preproduction has been put on hold, and a handful of directors have said they would refuse the gig if offered. I mean sure they could obviously get someone to take the job, but there's still a huge black cloud over the whole thing. I believe they are currently doing final reshoots on Avengers 4, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up killing off the guardians.

  19. Man I remember discovering House of Balloons and listening to it almost daily. I could never get into anything after that except a few songs. There's just not as much substance in production and lyrics, something that actually made him stand out. Now I hear his stuff on the radio and it sounds like everything else.

  22. I guess some of you guys missed there part where I said "Not saying what they did was right..."? I bought a copy of every edition that's been offered so far b/c I am a fan as well. And yet, I'm not all butthurt about it and cancelling my order out of principal or whatever. That's bullshit. Folks either wanted the gold because they collect SP or they didn't because they thought it was limited and might be worth something later or was planning to flip it right off the bat. To come into the thread and boohoo about what they did/didn't do (could have been bait/switch? could have been an honest error in the listing?) and state that you cancelled your order just screams that it was purchased under other pretenses. I don't give a shit though. I think it's hilarious! It's a $23 gold record I can add to my SP collection. Woo.

  23. My local shop (and Amazon) now has this coming out Sept 28th. I didn't see the merch table but everyone seemed to have copies leaving the Chicago show last week. Can't recommend enough to go see them live if you haven't before.

  25. Yes, it's the 2004 which is being used for this pressing as well. Even if you just look up comparisons on YouTube you can tell a huge difference in the quality which says a lot.

  27. ^ Once I tagged you Chuck for some reason I couldn't type anything anymore. Anyways, thanks for that. Just trying to get some honest feedback about what might be a simple question, but it's helpful to hear other ideas and other examples so I can see what works for me. With that being said, thanks for all of the great feedback on this from everyone. I did speak with a contractor who I saw at a family event and he confirmed the load bearing wall is the best option for second floor placement like I am looking for. Unfortunately, the second floor is my only option at this point and for the foreseeable future. That's why I want to make sure I get it right since it will be there for an extended period of time. Feel free to keep the discussion going if anyone has any additional feedback. In the next few weeks I'll be working on getting it secured and I'll post some pics in case it will help anyone else that comes across this thread with similar questions.

  43. I have maybe one or two. Which considering how many records I own is a shockingly low number. That said, most of my collection is from years/decades ago when they really were test presses and a handful exited and were hard to get hold of. As people have already pointed out. These days they are A N Other variant to get collectors to part with their money. If I buy another, it will be for an album that means a lot, an awful lot to me...as it's obviously a low edition, and as a collector, that it what we are here for. I sold one and really regret it now. So there's a lesson there kids. Never sell anything.
